As the clown mentioned, if the bottom pair is Guhle and Gorges, that is fine.
If it means Guhle will be out of the lineup, that would be unacceptable, but with how much it appears they like Guhle, I can't see that being the case.
From everything I've heard and read, Murray has a clear picture of who needs to be gone and what needs to be added.
It's only a matter of if it can be done without a major change to the roster regarding something nobody would like to lose. - kingcong39
To me, it was unacceptable that it happened this year. You cannot under any circumstances sell your fanbase on playoffs and then proceed to not ice the best team you have available to you because something something leadership something something voice in the locker room.
Guhle might have struggled first 20 games, but a smart d-man like him wouldve adjusted and been far more impactful by game 40 than gorges.
Decision to send him back because he (a defensive first guy) didnt light up pre season was equally as moronic as the one to keep Grant here for way too long because he had an art ross pre season. |

is ror a 7 million dollar a year player?
serious question, not meant to start a pissing contest - homiedclown
yes. i mean basically its a ufa contract he signed. no point getting bent out of shape over what you signed somebody for in ufa. is it wrong to think that reinhart is supposed to be a better version of ror? whats reinhart get next year?- 5/27.5? both guys are probably average skaters. given that everybody wants a faster team, would you rather give kane 6 million a year or reinhart 5.5 after next season? |

I think we are putting way too much stock into a 20 year old 2nd rounder with 3 NHL games, and I like Guhle. More than likely he finds himself in and out of the pressbox during his rookie year. - sbroads24
Unless a miracle happens, he would be in the bottom pairing for me all year, despite ups and downs, unless he was outright horrible.
Give him a true chance. |

He's more than capable of working through the nhl at the 16 or so minutes (sheltered) that a bottom pairing d-man gets. |

I'm not sold he's awful. Not sold that he's good either - sbroads24
I don't think he inspires his players or connects with them at all. Yeah, he tells them tons of details and things to expect, but he walks up and down the bench without saying much. I don't think he gets the most out of his players emotionally. |

Totally agree, but we can't change the past. We have to hope they have learned from it for the future, meaning immediately after this season is over. |

He'll see the press box.
Most players do, especially rookie defensemen. |

Right, which means you still need 2 guys up top in the 1-4 spots.
This team needs to start competing for something next year.
Okposo will be 30, and Kane will be a pending UFA next season. |

They'd sooner keep him in the AHL to play top pair minutes then have him in the press box
Edit: Most rookie defensemen actually see a decent amount of ice time these days. |

Complaining about ROR is today's soup du jour eh.
The guy is in a slump, he's an extremely important player that I've always respected on the ice (same can't be said off the ice pre-Sabres), he can do everything at least pretty well.
Get the (frank) over it. |

Probation violation is an offense that occurs when you break the terms or conditions of your probation. The consequences associated with probation violation usually depend on a variety of factors, such as the nature and seriousness of the violation, whether you have any prior violations, and whether there are other circumstances that may lessen (or worsen) the severity of the situation. A probation violation may result in significant penalties, such as heavy fines, extended probation, jail time, or more.

Team has dead weight like every team in this league. If you see it, Murray sees it. But no one ever takes into account that you need another guy to agree to a trade. How will that trade effect the short and long term of the team? How will the financials be handled? Who will be replacing that player if you get picks back? Does that other GM want to deal with the players on and off ice warts? Injury prone? Streaky? Doesn't play well in a certain system? What's his age? What style does he play? Is he personable?
We sit here all day bashing the GM, the coaches and the players for this and that. No one ever thinks about why something is going on or the factors going into it. It's just always, you (frank)ing suck, do something.
And to a point, you're right. But complaining when nothing gets done is good for a conversation piece, but you're missing so many facts, it ain't worth poop. You can't truly evaluate these people that run franchises because in all honesty, you have no (frank)ing clue what you're talking about. You can assess them by the moves they make that do or don't work. That goes for the GM, the coach, the players. But to continue to complain as to why a guy wasn't traded, why this guy has this contract, why Joel Armia is not a Sabre anymore, why Drew Stafford is better than Evander Kane, why Brayden McNabb isn't here anymore is just (frank)ing ludicrous.
Now how about a little god damned positivity and looking towards the (frank)ing future. (frank). |

when it leaked out he is not the locker room leader they expected, it's fair conversation for a simple discussion on a 7 mil per year player
I did not see one person say anything bad about the person or the play on the ice |
