I just read Harrington's article. What a dunce. Of (frank)ing course they're not one big happy family. Should they be? They have a 1% chance of making the playoffs. If they were a big happy family I would be very worried. - Wetbandit1
Murray could pull a Trump and ban the Buffalo News from his pressers |

The Golden Knights will be required to select one player off of each NHL roster in the expansion draft, which runs from June 18-20. General managers have the option of protecting seven forwards, three defensemen and one goalie, or eight skaters regardless of position and one goalie. GMs were hesitant to add a player they could lose in June.
ROR, Kane, Eichel, Bailey, Rodriguez, Reinhart, Okposo, Risto, Lehner (8 plus a goalie)
Who would you protect? - lulags
I know Eichel and Reinhart don't need to be protected. Based on that, Bailey and Rodrigues don't need to be either. Not sure if this was your guess as to who they protect or if you pulled it from somewhere.

71 is a keeper - SABRES 89
Agreed. He needs F/O work i think, but he's probably the 13th forward next year |

I'd consider moving on from larsson and giving e rod a full time shot with the club
he sure is faster than larsson |

He should be able to move Girgensons in the offseason so 71 should have a chance. Murray has had talks with teams about Girgensons a while back. Same goes for Ennis and if he wouldn't have gotten hurt again, he would have been moved already. |

* All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits).
Do they count years played or year we are going into? If its year we are going into then Eichel and Reinhart will need to be protected |

By my count there are about 8 teams right now that are out of the playoffs. Why not continue to talk with teams like Arizona or Colorado to see if there is a trade to be made. I know it doesn't really happen, but why not keep looking to improve now instead of waiting until everyone else is involved? |

Larsson is not really a very good skater overall. It's part of why when people asked if I'd rather keep him or Girgs, I'd pick Girgs.
Love what we've seen from Rodrigues in his call ups this year. If he keeps using his motor like that, he should be a solid contributor. My concern is that these guys come in with all sorts of adrenaline and are trying to prove themselves and then once they get their "spot" they don't play quite the same. |

The season will not officially be over at the time of the expansion draft, so it is still considered their 2nd year. |

On a similar note, how bad are the Golden Knights (worst name ever BTW) going to be next year?? Pretty bad I am assuming. |

I'd rather move Girgs because he isn't as good of a F/O or PK guy as Larsson, but i agree 28 or 22 has got to go |

Weak offensively but they're gonna be stacked with 2nd/3rd line players who are good defensively. I think they'll be competitive and boring. New Jersey West, if you will |

MAF will be their starting goaltender
They will draft in the top 5
Their weakness is going to be their blue line |
