seems every year more and more trades come in after the 3pm deadline

really ruins the drama, it should be changed to trades must be FINALIZED by 3pm, not called in to the league

tsn article from earlier says NHL office only needs both sides to acknowledge trade made before the 3:00 deadline, and then the office calls both sides to work through all the conditions and details, which occasionally takes a while
