We played (frank)ing arizona.
We've outchanced the opponent 5v5 something like only 11 or 12 times this year. we get brutally outshot most nights. I dont understand how this could still be a point of contention. nearly all of our frustrations with this team stem from the fact that our defence is awful.
Wingers are available all the time. defencemen are not. Thats all im saying. Broads is right, in a perfect world id keep him, sign him long term to be here along with 2 other d-men. But i can't see a scenario in which we can actually afford that both in terms of cap or in assets needed to acquire those d-men. - Sabresfan-365
Hard choice . We lose Kane and we won't see an equal for years. And if we sign a ufa that wants to be here, would cost plenty. Odds that guy will stay healthy ? turn into a moulson? Ennis?
We don't have to look for one , we have him. Just have to extend him at a reasonable amount. |

He's not wrong. Our transition game is brutal which is why we have a hard time getting out of our zone. - HonkFortheGoose
Yes it does suck. I just want to know who replaces his goals ?
Remember when Roy was gone ? Those goals were never replaced and was the beginning of the suck. |

This may ultimately be what gets him moved. Even now its hard to really get what fair offer for him would be. |

I agree. I believe he will demand a 7 for 7 type deal maybe more. We may not be able to afford to keep him. |

only other scenario i can think of is if they luck into a situation where they can move an unbelievable amount of salary out without having to retain/buyout/take something back. |

Franson looked pretty good last night. I think we will end up re-signing him for a year. |

Bogosian and a 3rd for a 6th/7th to LV with the agreement they take Moulson or Ennis.

Pipe dream scenario:
Ennis, Moulson, Gorges, Bogo are all gone next year.
I'll take one bag of pucks for all of them. |

IMO, the writing was on the wall the moment he (frank)ed up during the draft, and they decided to pursue Okposo.
I can't think of another team that has locked up 5 big $$ forwards before they made the playoffs. |

I dont think he will get that term from us, and def not on the FA market with his "history" even though he has been fine while in buffalo, besides calling in late. |

Major factor in all of this..$$$
Even IF you get that D man we all want/need without trading kane... You still have to pay that Dman.. So even if you somehow get that guy it needs to be for money in money out
Edit: many people mentioned this point already... |

the 7mil. Yes, i think max term he gets anywhere is 5. And like i said before, ideal for us would be 4x6/6.5 |

Who fits that mold? Moulson, ROR, Okposo and Risto
We would have to retain 110% of moulson's salary for someone to take him and the rest I am assuming we want to keep vs lose to make room for Kane |

If he would agree to a 5-5.5 for 5 I would say lock him down. |
