He isn't going to take a pay cut lol - CoHo_to_B-Lo
Based on the fact he was a complete ass clown that no body wanted to touch with a 10ft poll and had a 1/2 of a good season since then |

Chump change to them, especially with the revenue they bring in from the Bills. - ImThatGuy
Exactly Pegula doesn't care. How many coaches is he paying right now? LOL |

Its not a bad problem to have. It really all come down to Eichels LTD and unloading the dead weight this summer. GMTM does love to make a deal and he did say we all need to be patient after the bust at the deadline. - lulags
If we can get Eichel and Reinhart locked up to Tavares or Stamkos type deals I would throw myself at Murrays feet! |

Please explain. Only thing he has done since he came to Buffalo was show up late to work.... and he called ahead. |

Moulson (Retain 1.5MM) Still frees up 3.5MM
Gorges gone after next year
McCormick gone after this year another 1.5MM.
There is your McCabe raise + . - ImThatGuy

I think the window in and around expansion is their best bet, once teams have it sorted it out you may not find a dance partner willing to move a 20 something d-man. - Sabresfan-365
If they want to move him, it has to be this summer. The tricky part is that they can't technically talk extension with him until July 1st because you can't sign a guy to a new contract until they're in their final year. But if they don't think they're going to get him in at a number that works for them, they have to move him sometime around the draft. |

Another alleged assault charge while all owners and GMs were in Buffalo, regardless is proven guilty or not, Teams around the league took notice. |

This is the only reason him being here next year won't bother me. Because I know after that his contract is up. I'd much rather find a way to move out Moulson or Bogo before I'd worry about Gorges. |

It absolutely is.
Murray needs to be smart, I think it can be done.
We desperately need to catch lightning in a Bottle with Guhle and another draft pick to have top D-men on ELC and RFA type deals. . |

I agree, also may be part of the reason they chose Nylander as well. - Sabresfan-365
Bogo kinda ruins the plan.
Basically we need player at his cap to play (what he's projected to be) a solid #2/3 d man role.
Instead we pay him to play a bottom pair role at a cap hit that's prolly 2.5 mill TOO much...and with that lost ~2.5 mill we potentially lose kane. |

While the info I've gotten on that front has said he didn't do anything wrong, he needs to do a better job of protecting himself from being a target like that.
So I get what you're saying. He didn't have the best track record already. Having his name thrown out there in another "incident" isn't a good look at all. |

Did you see the proven guilty or not part of my post.
Whether he did or not. Teams took notice.
Minnesota nixed a deal at the draft because of it. You may not like it or think it is unfair, but he did it to himself. |

That was not part of the equation. it was strictly salary cap workingings
Disagree on putting yourself in a corner though. You lock up your top end forwards for a long time.
Again, its getting defense in here that will be tricky.
using the first this year to trade for a D-man.
Trade a 2nd and a 3rd for a player that is going to be left unprotected. - ImThatGuy
Agreed, but Chicago's are better, and again they knew they could contend.
I like ROR but im not sure outside of Eichel= P. Kane if anyone has the skill of a Panarin or Marian Hossa.

That would be the way I would lean towards. We have OK and ROR taking up a some big $$$ |

Someone is gonna pay him 6.5-7 for 5+ years. If we offered 6x6, would he take it? Should we do it? I don't think so, but that's a realistic approximation of what it'll take |

Nope, especially when the entire hockey world was in Buffalo at that time.
Kane should be on Minnesota right now and we should have one of their D-men. but what can you do. |

I think a strong Vet presence would do wonders for Risto, Ghule like a Bouwmeester |

Cost to replace him would be ? And who? There isn't a bunch out there. GM would want to do the trade, Player would want to sign if a UFA? who is out there? |

Blues are struggling on offense might be able to swing a deal where blues retain some of his salary. Moulson, Ennis for Jay Bo |

I'm guessing Jay Bo has a NTC of some sort. And I don't see him waiving it to come to Buffalo. |
