I like Nyberg as well. I dont know what happened in 14 but the last two drafts have helped with that. - Sabresfan-365
It loooks like Brycen Martin and Eric Cornel are busts and Karabacek is close to that. Olofsson could be ok and Wilman and Brown are having decent college seasons but overall it isn't good. |

Then flipped Mcginn for a pick that we sent to acquire Vesey's rights, which, while it didn't pan out, was well worth it imo - jcragcrumple
Totally agree. We could afford to roll the dice and spend a 3rd. The upside of landing Vesey far out weighed the downside of losing a 3rd |

Second best TM trade
Buffalo Sabres acquire
Ryan O`Reilly
Jamie McGinn
Colorado Avalanche acquire
Nikita Zadorov
Mikhail Grigorenko
J.T. Compher
2015 2nd round pick - lulags
I don't think any of his trades have been awful, but not too many wins in there either. When he was selling guys off in '14 & '15 he got what the market was giving. But in the end it doesn't matter if he can't do anything with those picks! |

He actually looked good last week when Rochester played in Buffalo. Now, it's only one game, but he has a good amount of speed to his game and was one of the most noticeable guys out there. Could still very well end up a career AHLer or he could be a late bloomer. After Wednesday, I'm going to reserve judgement for a little bit longer. |

Someone was just complaining about that trade the other day. 3rd rounders are already a bit of a gamble and Vesey was a more developed entity, so the risk/reward factor was heavily skewed in our direction. Unfortunately he chose to go elsewhere. At the end of the day, it's not really a big deal to "lose" out on that 3rd rounder. At least it was in an attempt to do something more. |

Let's hope he's a late bloomer. I know he had an injury earlier in the year and went to Elmira for a bit on a conditioning assignment. But his draft year I thought he was a bit of a reach for a 2nd rd pick. |

While the draft interests me, I'm just never quite that into it. I know who the guys are that typically go in the 1st round and maybe a few of the guys that go at the top of the 2nd but by pick 40 I'm probably clueless unless someone really falls.
I'm hoping he's on the right trajectory now, but we'll have to wait and see. |

Wins -
Kane trade - It got us Eichel
Kulikov trade - His inability to play defense got us 19 more games of Kulikov
Lehner trade - Neck tattoo
Vesey trade - Got us doing line combinations with Vesey/Eichel/Reinhart for 3 straight months here
O'Reilly trade - Got us the identity of the mystery driver, it also got posters to claim "Eichel needs McGinn"
Halak trade - Nuff Said
Losses
McNabb trade - I got nothing, it was just stupid |

That's fair. I don't know if Murray will re-sign him or not but a healthy Kulikov would have helped. - mhp
I said it yesterday. I would be ok with essentially adding another year onto his contract. 1 year deal at the same cap hit, maybe his celery is a bit different but 1 year at $4.33M or whatever it is. And if he's still bad walk away before you commit any money and we don't have to sign Eichel and Reinhart until after next season anyway, or their money won't kick in until the season after next anyway. Sure, it's almost $4.5M dollars on the cap, but a fair amount is coming off, we'll likely have 2 new ELCs next year, and we need defensemen anyway. You can't add 4 new defensemen and hope to be any good for at least half the season.
This is all contingent on him being healthy of course. I would rather pay him more for one season than pay him less per year for a multi year deal. Even if it's only 2 for $7M. I think the absolute best he can hope for this offseason is a Franson like deal. |

Not every Thursday. It's usually one or two home games a month he goes down to 716 and talks to the guys there. At least I didn't think so, then again I don't really listen to WGR at that time unless it is a game day. |

I think we have too many guys who play that style, time to invest in puck movers. |

Tyler Ennis-Ryan O'Reilly-Kyle Okposo
Marcus Foligno-Jack Eichel-Sam Reinhart
Evander Kane-Zemgus Girgensons-Brian Gionta
Matt Moulson-Evan Rodrigues-Justin Bailey
Ennis on the top line and Kane on the 3rd. Makes perfect sense if we are going for a top 3 pick. - lulags
Kane was producing on that line before he was put on Eichel's wing...
looks to me like they're just trying to get Ennis going
Then we might be able to trade him in the offseason?
If that's the thinking, makes sense |

You're the 2nd person I've seen say he looked good when they saw him,
So maybe there's hope
I just hated that pick bc it was a reach, and we had picked a bunch of forwards recently, and even though we were light on defense we passed up 2 guys that were rated much higher than him
Can't do anything about it now though,
So I hope he does work out
But it still bugs me that he picked Karabacek & Cornel instead of McKeown & Dougherty. Made no sense to me |
