According to his stats he looks more like a Lady Bing winner. I have had enough of that style to last my lifetime. Players with a little bit of an edge please. - Reubenkincade

A playmaking C that scores 20 & plays a 200' game is ideal. 70-80pts
Who fits that mould?
We have solid goal scoring already at C.
Playmakers & PP QB r where r hurting.
D scoring well thats a whole other ball of wax.

More food for thought to my post above...
A big trade moving a D could alter the draft plan to allow an easy BFA selection.
So Tanev say for who?
Blue chip prospect or in a package for eg Duchene
If prospect who is targeted? - Nighthawk
Trade tanev to Vegas for their pick whatever it is, 3OA, or 4OA.makes the equation a lot simpler. Tanev and Columbus 2nd if it comes down to it. Vegas needs to be competitive, so give em a no. 2/3 d man... speed up the acquisition of some key pieces. |

Really. Both Crosby and McDavid were known for playing with an edge, so was Toews, Bergeron.
Pretty sure those guys might be known as okay players. - Reubenkincade
So you're citing 2 generational 1st overall guys, Toews (who I had ranked 1st that year) and Bergeron who was a 2nd round pick (kind of my point). To get elite skill players, you need to take them high in the lottery when you have the chance. The Bergerons can be had later (either way, takes good scouting and a bit of luck). |

Problem is we look pretty good on RW only reason is not a fit most likely.
Its explains why i constantly spitball trades.
Also getting Dahlen & Godolbin as lefties i wonder if its to deal for Kane this year or next potentially. Sabres won't give him away & r weak at LW.
I still seek who any other posters like trading for...
Kane Duchene Landeskog or anyone else?
Stand pat is obvious but boring pertaining to the speculation game 😂😂
Kane just scored lol - Nighthawk
I personally like all three. Landeskog might be the cheapest after an off-year. Got some sandpaper and a pretty crazy shot. Duchene, well we all know what he has. Kane I don't actually see moving he's playing so well with Eichel, but he sure looks good the last 20 games! an interesting point that he might be getting extra wingers to make a deal like that done. Tanev and one of the new guys for a landy or kane actually has something to it IMO. |

burr will be a key guy for Ottawa in the playoffs for sure but it was time to go, dahlen looks like he could be a legit top 6 for a long time, I am excited about dahlen and goldobin. |

No what I am saying is I want our top pick this season to not only be a skill guy but also have a little edge, my preference. I don't believe Mittlestadt plays with an edge, hence his extremely low pim's playing high school hockey.
You are the one who showed Virtanen as an example of players with an edge, I used examples of star centre's that play with an edge, of which, 2 are generational 1st overall picks, the other 2 are very good 2 way Centres.
Tired of our star players getting punched in face and taking it.
If our other prospects had some bite then sure I am all in on a player that could be deemed as soft with size like Grenier.

Moving on to JT a UFA IN 2018 is my radar blip.
What do we need in place to entice him? |

Fine but who is this player with an edge worthy to pick at the top of the draft.
Theory i get but apply it is what counts. |

I only used Virtanen as my example because the last time I frequented this site, I was pounding the table for Ehlers while others preferred Dal Colle/Virtanen/Ritchie with that pick because they had more edge... Hits close to home, homie. |

Dreaming if giving up & not working on it to happen.
1st question is he worth it.
Go from there & if not then who else is there?
Comes back to Duchene again or nothin else so draft & wait it out. |

I was on the Ehlers bandwagon but JV i came around to accepting.
Still have high hopes at only 20 he will pan out fine. |
