I can understand people worrying about Mittlestadt because of his decision to say in high school but the IMO the kid has the most potential for greatness. He's a very competitive player and doesn't shy away from contact from what I've seen/read. Using lack of pims to judge his toughness doesn't tell the whole story when he's as dominant as he is at that level.

I read an article the other day saying that he has to put up with a lot of abuse in that league because all teams can do is try to hack at him.

As much as this team needs toughness in its top 6 it needs skill much much more.

You mentioned Crosby, Bergeron, Toews as guys before "who don't take abuse" right? I have no reason to believe he will be any different than those in that respect. And while I'm not saying he is as good as Crosby is or ever will be but he is at that level compared to his peers right now.

He had a fight this year when playing for the growlers if it makes you feel any better.

I like the Nucks season styled around the Sedins. Play hard but lose often from October to March. Make sure injuries occur to key players. Insert untested players. Sink into bottom of league standings. Look for lotto win. Rinse repeat.

At that rate you get high draft picks. While having games matter in the illusion of competitive hockey. All the while slowly developing young players. Is that called rebuild or retool or what
