I think it gets easier for the long term star NHLers, like Selanne, Lidstrom, etc. just because by the end of their careers they want to spend more time with family, they have made (and presumably saved) lots of money, and they leave with a sense of pride for the whole of their careers. The journeymen or guys who careers are cut short I think feel less adequate after leaving. Go from the high of NHL to normal life is tough adjustment when it wasnt your choice to leave

Yes. I was talking more in generalities. But you are right. There are some who have adjusted well but there are many who go the complete opposite way. And there are a few stories that are down right tragic.

And exciting. Gives fans something to cheer for. I love the rookie hustle.

Not even close, there's still a lot of older players on the team. Henrik is 36, Daniel is 36, Miller is 36, Dorsett is 30, Eriksson is 31, Edler is 30, Sutter is 28, Skille is 29. That really brings the age average up.

I only remembered it because its scary how young and good Tampa is. Shedding salary at the deadline so they could keep the kids was a big win for them
