Ron Francis quietly doing a nice rebuild in the NHL wasteland that is Carolina.

Bettmans got the trigger finger now. Relocation a possibility. That would be a nice franchise to get at the bottom of their rebuild curve.

Burrows did Ottawa no favours, they are very old for a playoff contender
- WhiteLie

I believe last year for playoff rosters that SJ and Pitt were the oldest teams.

I think it was the time frame for being truly cup competitive. But if by chance we can get our own mcdavid, Matthews, Laine, etc then maybe this team could really speed this thing up.
- bloatedmosquito

One positive is that if all things go some what right we have depth in goal and on D, which most rebuilding teams didnt see the oilers.. But if we get lucky with our current foward prospects and can land a couple nice players in the next two drafts we could be very close.

They would have to stay in the east for sure. And I've said it so many times before, TO (southern Ontario) needs another team before Quebec City does.

Saying that I can understand why they would keep it in the US.

Yeah I expect that though from solid playoff teams who can make a run for the cup. I personally view Ottawa as a team that could still miss the playoffs and would be a miracle if they made any sort of substantial run beyond round 1

Franchise desperately needs a Norris caliber dman for once in their history. He's out there somewhere!

I just noticed Burrows scored twice in his first game as a Sen.

Look if you are paying a player to be a mentor at 7 million a year and they have low production , that is hard on a franchise. Now double it for the same message and same production seeing there are two of them preaching the same thing. Now triple it because you have Eriksson added to that same message.

It is ridiculous how fans get so attached to mediocrity. One mentor should be able to echo that same message at around five mil a year, no need to spend 35 million on life lessons and bad scoring.

Look, you're absolutely right, but now take that same situation and sentiment and apply it to about 25 other teams in the league. Bcus they all have or will have players like the Sedins, that will have anchor contracts to deal with in the not too distant future. Its only our sh*t that stinks bud. Honestly, it could be A LOT worse, refer to LA, MIN, ANA, CHI to name just a few.

I don't think we're necessarily attached to mediocrity, we're dealing with it, it just affects some us more aggravatingly than others.

JBs got to continue to work magic in those late rounds. Picking top three in each of those rounds would be a nice position to be in.

Absolutely, thats why I have zero problem with Liljegrin. Rome wasnt built in a day. If you look at all the cup winners over the years they have all had a top dman.

I will be pretty annoyed if the TML make the playoffs thanks to their 14 loser points. Without that loser point they would be only 4 points ahead of Van in the standings.

Detroit made the PO's a few years back with something like 18-20 Buttman loser points. The current system is a mess with this wild card and loser point garbage.

Go back to the top 16 where 1 plays 16...2 plays 15 so on and so forth...who gives a rats ass about gary's travel schedule.

But gary will make Po's 20 teams soon enough with more useless expansion...SCF on July 15...wicked!!
