Hamilton better than Brodie? I always thought he was. Or Hamilton better than you thought? Your meaning is a bit vague.
- Wetbandit1

Both tbh. I always thought hamilton would be good but i thought some combination of foot speed and lack of finesse would prevent him from being among the elite. This year hes looking like an absolute star, more of a star than brodie ever was.

If im reading this right as of today the hurricanes only have one defencemen (faulk) who meets the expansion exposure requirements?

They've got quite a bit of cap space too and i dont think they have that many forwards theyd want to protect...definitely something that could be worked out there.

4 bags please

double ply in case one falls off

- homiedclown

I was surprised when my kid didn't know what a "two bagger" is. He's a sophomore in high school.

Now he thinks he may be cool.

Speaking of bags, Peters regarding Lack:

"Your teammates are out there working their bag off."

How does that get published in mainstream media.

Risto is 4th for average TOI among all players and 10th in points among defensemen

He's up there with some pretty impressive company

Would like to see a few more goals from him. 4 goals on 156 shots for a 2.6% shooting. That has to get better, right? Only one on the team with a goal that has a lower % is Bogo.

If I'm understanding your post correctly, according to cap friendly Murphy, Dahlbeck and Tennyson also could be protected. Hanifin, Fleury, Bean, Slavin and Pesce are exempt.

On the forward side, Staal has to be protected. My guess is they will protect Skinner, Rask, Lindholm and maybe Nordstrom and Terravainen. A lot of their good young players are exempt.

edit- they could protect Stempniak as well. My guess is they go the 8 and 1 idea.

yea it seems like tennyson is close to #games played required for exposure and dahlbeck just needs to be qualified? Dunno if they'll protect nordstrom though.

Most of what they need protecting is already protected for them.

I would agree they're probably 8/1, could be a good trade fit

My guess is they will go Staal, Skinner, Rask, Lindholm, Stempniak, Faulk, Ward or Lack (no clue on that lol), and one of McGinn, Teravainen or Nordstrom.

I love their D prospects so a trade for one of them would be nice. Fleury or Bean would be a good pickup. I wonder what it would take, maybe a 2nd and a prospect?

They could protect a goalie in the AHL...Lack is garbage this year and their coach just totally lambasted him in public.

Ward is old and expensive.

My money is still on them working out some deal involving Faulk and a forward.

I know canes fans have had mixed feeling regarding the other d-men in the lineup but the way ive read it seems like slaving and pesce have already begun passing him on the depth chart with hanifin soon to follow. Faulk may be there best bet and landing a forward.

They could certainly move Faulk especially with Bean and Fleury probably there next year. or we could push to get Hanifin. Hanifin will cost though.

A trade for a dman this summer would seem to be on Murray's wish list.

We could see Nylander before the end of the season.
