They barely added anything to this one... Was hoping for more "newness" - jochfr
That is not new. There has not been a new one since comic-con last August. |

He's looked good. He could find a spot on the roster next year. I think the 3rd/4th lines will be very young. |

Pass on both...you are spinning your tires with both deals....you fill a spot on the D but one opens up in the top 6 |

top 6 wing easier to fill than top pair D.
Edit: could do it as early as this draft |

from what ive heard from homie and elsewhere it doesnt sound like Kane will get that type of return.
In the case of Carolina, Im willing to bet theyd prefer the deal that brings back a cost controlled forward vs one who is pending FA.
Im 100% down for Reinhart-Hanifin. Not because i think its some rip off, i like the guy. Just needs to be done imo. Otherwise in a few years we'll be doing our own version of Hall-Larsson or 16th and 33 for magic.....err mediocre beans. |

We also have a 1st rounder that we don't REALLY need this year...and packaged with Baptiste, Bailey, Carrier, Rodrigues, Girgs, Larsson, etc.....throw in a conditional 2nd rounder and you have yourself your D-man
Also....that implies that the top 6 is actually easy to fill....how long did we wait to replace Vanek, our last legitimate scoring threat? We had to slog through two years of tanking in order to get another player (Jack) that every time he gets the puck you think he might score.

Faulk might cost our 1st rd pick. Or possibly Nylander and picks.
I think Hanifin is a major reach. If we could pull off Scandella and Faulk that would be amazing. Buy out Bogo and waive Gorges next year.

McCabe-Faulk

“(Some people) kind of chuck me up to be more of a goal scorer, but I’m a pass-first guy,” Eichel said Friday inside HarborCenter."
But i thought he was a pure goal scorer?! - Sabresfan-365
The dude has a great shot. It's not like he's Thornton.
I'd expect 30 goals 50 assists next year or that kind of ratio |

packaging the 1st rounder for a d-man will always be my first choice, there's no doubt. I just wonder, in a draft like this, if it brings back anything that wont make the fan base throw up (see fowler last year).
Here's the thing, when your team is properly built (i.e the core) it is in fact significantly easier(not easy) to fill than landing a high end D-man.
What did Rutherford pay in the span of 6 months to land Kessel and Hagelin? We waited that long because We CHOSE to wait that long. Not so Eichel could replace vanek, so that Eichel could become the face of the franchise we never had in vanek.
If they can get the core built, turn this team into a legitimate threat 5 on 5 for more than just 2 games a month, you'll be surprised how much easier it will be to have wingers fit in simply because there will be far less required of them with a better team in place |

No i get that i just laugh every time people say he doesnt shoot enough and that he's not a pass firsts guy hes our vanek
a) Hes quite literally is shooting at a historic pace. b) hes been pass first since day one and c) comparing him to vanek is just insulting, and i liked vanek. |

any defencemen worth a damn will be a reach. Will require a hefty overpayment, thats why its important they get it right. |

He's like Crosby in that regard. Crosby is a goal scorer who's pass first.
Obviously he's not as good |

With the way he draws defenders in it's no wonder why he considers himself a pass first guy.
But he does have a great shot.
I think in a few years he will be a 35-40 goal scorer with 50-60 assist guy if the NHL lets their skilled players loose again. |

I view it more as a playmaker who has a good shot. Both of them always look for the pass first instinctively |
