I get what you're saying, and like I said, not trying to pick a fight. Over the last few days people have kept saying Kane is playing well because he plays with Eichel (which isn't really the whole story) and then you come out and say that Moulson is just the beneficiary of a good PP.

The "agenda" just starts to get old after a bit. And that's not to say I don't do the same things sometimes, and if I do, you're more than welcome to point it out to me as well. It's part of being human. We all have biases.

Jamie McGinn did that for us on the PP last year. I think i tried to oversell that Moulson is overall a bad hockey player. When we get rid of him, it'll be an adjustment to make up his PP goals, and we might not have a guy with 10 PP goals. On the other hand, we should be better 5-on-5 which is what we really need.

I'd rather be 5th in league in PP instead of first if it meant we were better 5-on-5

Matt Moulson playing 5-9 mins a night 5v5 isn't really our issue though. Are we getting the value out of him at this point? Not really. But, at the end of the day, he's not really an "issue" in terms of his play either.

(and I'm pretty sure Cody Franson would lose to him in a skate-off).

At the end of the day, our struggles start and end on our blueline. If Murray can fix that, I think a lot of other areas will improve pretty drastically as well.

Not true. That's just poor coaching. There's plenty of guys that could go out and play some of those "extra" minutes that the coach is giving O'Reilly. Eichel had 17 mins last night. O'Reilly had over 20. Kane had 16. Girgensons, Bailey, and Rodrigues all could have played more minutes last night as well.
