This is why the NHL is deadlast in ratings. They don't give a crap about their star players. This is at least the sixth (frank)ing time Eichel has been mauled down in the offensive zone right in front of the wannabe hockey players now pathetic zebra (frank)s faces and a penalty not called. All have came in pressure sitations late in the game where a clear and just penalty given would've created some of that offense those morons in the NHL offices so badly want. In basketball if Lebron James gets poked on the arm with a feather late in a game it's a fowl. That creates more offense. The NBA cares about protecting their star players the NHL just cares about which non traditional hockey market they can shell money into. It's a (frank)ing farce.

I've tried to be un-biased about Lehner despite hating the fact we gave a 1st up in a great draft, but this dude is so flawed. He is putrid against breakaways and odd man rushes. Has had numberous goals scored where half of the net is wide open because he's too aggressive.

Just brace yourselves for when we have a new coach or new D men that want the be aggressive and pinch offensively.

I've noticed something for months on this team but I haven't said anything, and I think it's indicative.

Notice when we score a goal, particularly when we score first or the first series of goals, our celebrations always look like a garbage time goal from team on the wrong end of a blowout? They lazily fist bump and look at each other like "We're just going to blow this in the end, so whatever".

I think it's the nail in that coffin the Disco is a huge problem. But I also don't think this team likes each other much. We have a pretty good forward group, but the defense is an atrocious mix of suck and everyone knows it. I can't image, Kane, Eichel, ROR, Samson and others are real fond of their defencemen's work.

Then the shootout. We take a simple concept and make it seem impossible. The 1st round draft pick trade goalie does NOTHING to endear himself to his teammates or fans. And the shooters return the favor by doing the same. Succeeding in those moments and bailing each other out is the ultimate bonding experience for a team. And under Dan we manage to walk away from those situations with negative equity in the locker room(and in the stands). God that's hard to do.
