What are you doing with my avatar? Are you an insider? - Argue4U
No. WD is a bad coach. He should be working towards next season. Instead he's stuck in his ways. |

Uh…excuse me dude…we don't have systems…haven't you been reading? lol - LordHumungous
"Consider that Bo Horvat said the best thing Willie has done for him in three years, was put Alex Burrows on his line.
That’s some compliment."
In three years the best thing WD has done for Bo, is to put another player on his line. To me that says everything about WD coaching right there. WD let Alex Burrows coach him to his best year yet.
I sure hope they bring Burrows back a coach in the future.

I guess you're the Devils advocate. Good to know.
Trying to win is over. It's time to teach. WD doesn't seem to be very good at that. |

You teach in practice, prepare your team. On game day you go for the win. |

I think WD is in over his head but I also agree with ASLs comment yesterday , get a new coach after Sedins retire.
The last thing you need is some coach coming in and not having full control.
The team works hard for WD so take your high draft pick this year and next and then go for a new package. |

If that was the case then the coach wouldn't need to be behind the bench. He could sit in the press box and watch his team in a lounge chair. |

The only player with a +/- in the negative was Granlund .
It is funny how that works . When Sutter was on that line he was a minus player also .
Eriksson also .

I will ask you this, if its all about talent then what about the nyrs in the 90's before the cap came in. $95 M in payroll and they signed every talent they could. STar studded roster....even gretzky. Yet they couldnt even make the playoffs year after year! Everyone said theyd win the cup based on roster. Crash and burn. Yet the talent was there.
I'd also like to point out how certain coaches go team to team yet have the exact same results with a different roster. THats not the team its the coach. scotty bowman for example...BB...Dave tippet....AV
Then we have the pens. Both times they win the cup in recent years its after a coaching change. Same roster that wasnt gonna make playoffs then the change and win a cup. Same players, same talent. When blysma was hired it was mid season even.
Try not to dismiss the role coaches have on the outcome. - SMBDragon
But…Boudreau and AV both walked into pretty great roster situations…as did Tippett in PHX at one time and he wasn't able to do much there. And of course the Pens both times had the best player in the world and the depth on roster to make it happen.
I get your arguments Dragon but it really does begin with a proper balanced roster. There aren't really any other top end coaches out there that could have squeezed any more out of this aging country-club core this year and previous. Hence Torts doing way better with a strong roster as opposed to an aging core. Willie has brought youth along at every level…WHL…AHL and now NHL with Bo-Sven-Granlund-Tree and even Stecher and more to come if they decide to keep WD here…Hell, even Magma and Chapoo look better under WD.
You have teams with what could be considered 'real good' coaches struggling to make the PO's when they should have solidified a spot by now in the post-season. Cooper in TB, Hakstol in PHI, Maurice in WPG, Ruff in DAL, Sutter in LA are just a few examples of good coaches struggling to get teams in because they are just missing pieces on their rosters…they just can't squeeze any more out.
I'm sure the Nucks will weigh their options in the summer on a coach as they should…but I also would not be shocked to see WD back here for a few more seasons to bring some more youth along. In 3 years (or so) when Demko-Boeser-Juolevi-Goblin-Dahlen and a few other prospects are solidified on this roster we may see a major push for a top end playoff coach. |

Should be all in the game plan he came up with during the practices right? |

I didn't look at the JV lowlight package yesterday. The kid knows he just got passed by two prospects this week and if he has any intention of becoming an NHL player he better get his sh!t together. |

Go to theahl.com and watch the highlight package. Cassels don't suck as much as most think either. |

Well if that was the case it that would apply to every coach in the league then. I do respect your opinion though and won't argue with you. |

I wonder what number Horvat will sign at. Likely 8 years at $5-$6m is my guess. |
