here's one for y'all:
would you rather 3-on-3 for 10 minutes with a possible end-result of a tie
or
stick with the same format - Michael Pachla
I'd rather just 5 minutes OT and a tie.
For example, some of the best games to watch were the double shut-outs.

3 on 3 for 10 minutes then go to a shootout.
That's my ideal scenario because the shootout would become very rare. Lots of tired guys 3 on 3 and the long change.

Yeah, they certainly don't help. - sbroads24
there are a lot of problems with the defense, mostly because of their deficiencies, but a couple of problems I see consistently are lack of proper support from the forward group and solid outlet passes that they can't control...
not the lion's share of the problems but significant none-the-less

3v3 for 10 minutes - doppelthat
I think we'll have a lot of people ok with a tie at the end |

I think figuring out a 3-2-1 system would be good too.
Edit- it could make it easier to gain ground on teams just getting loser points |

I like soccer's set up.
3 points for the win, one point for the draw. the gap should help discourage teams from playing to tie in an 82 game season. |

if we had a better D-core we might not have to go to the shootout.
if our shootout players could score, we might win a shootout.
if our goalie could stop a few more shootout attempts, we night win the shootout.
Its a team wide problem.
Still wondering how much time they dedicate to it in practice?

I think this would be ideal but the league will never do it because the teams at the top will leave the ones at the bottom in the dust early in the season.
the NHL wants all of their fans to feel like their team might squeak in to the playoffs at the last minute. And I know you can argue that if you string together 10 wins, you'd gain 30 points. But if you're a cellar dweller, it just aint happening as we all know too well.

I'm pretty sold on Deshaun Watson.
I made it a point to be a Clemson fan this year to watch him and Mike Williams, and I wouldn't be mad if either are here |

I don't like 3 on 3. It's not hockey. It punishes the team who pushes the pace and tries offensively. It's like the ultimate trap game.
I had no problem with the previous OT format. With the current format I would probably just prefer a 4 on 4 OT that concludes in a tie. Two gimmicks one after the other is too much. |

Just watched the replay from last night...
The OT call on Girgs was ridiculous
And the NO-CALLS with 30sec left when Hedman took down Jack AND Kane was being held (which prevented him from an easy tap in) were BULLSH!T
Wtf?!
F#CK YOU to tom kowal & tom chmiellewski
***if anyone can find a clip of that play & post it, that would be great! |

Liked him A LOT in the 2 games I saw of him...
but apparently he's been so inconsistent this year that he's getting a 2nd round grade from the scouts & experts
I think I'd go Williams in the 1st,
& then try to trade up for Watson in the late 1st |

Never been a church guy, but the Ukrainian dragged me in this morning based on this whole Lent(?) thing.
I'm not doing that again.
First of all, you have to stand there in some stupid line before you can even get close to the bar, then they don't even have any proper bar stools and make you get on your knees? Wtf is that. To top it all off, though, right after I gave that bartender in the weird frilly blouse a big whopping tip, he still poured me a really short glass of poopty wine, even though I specifically asked him for bourbon neat. And then when I started to make a stink over it, they chase me out of there and rip off the next group of suckers who belly up.
Eff that. |

I'm nervous about Watson. Nervous we take him and he doesn't pan out and nervous we don't take him and regret it. Swinney's Jordan comparison comment is in my head. I'd rather they just draft Marcus Peters, Julio Jones or now John Ross. Those are my 3 picks. |

Pass on Mike Williams. John Ross just made him the 3rd best WR in the class behind him and Julio Jones. |

It would be much easier to create true separation between the good teams, mediocre ones, and bad ones if they just went back to calling all the penalties.
Letting crap go is a big part of the false standings parity, and the NHL wants that, which is truly sad. |
