-Fasching for Manson
-Sign Alzner
-Trade a 2nd (maybe 2?) for Nash bc NyR needs the Cap space & wouldn't want to lose Hayes or Zibanejad in the expansion draft |

It was a scouting report. I don't remember who wrote it, but I remember Homie posted he saw it on a scouting report and I remember reading it in another place too.

-Never happen(would love it to).
-God, no, not for the money he'll get anyway, for a Franson deal, sure.
-Sure, but no extension, or a one year deal only. |

Anaheim is probably gonna trade a defenseman
and what they'd want in return (imo) is a forward they don't have to protect in the expansion draft
I don't get the ppl who don't want Alzner?
He's the best defensive defenseman on the best team in the league
He's LH, and would seem to be a good fit to pair with Risto, letting him be more offensive & skate with the puck more
At about 5.5mil, I'm totally ok with that price tag
Unless we can pull off multiple trades for defensemen,
he's probably the best UFA suited for us
I wouldn't give Nash a long extension either
He'll be 33, so a 2year deal tops |

The Bills are so screwed with relatively very low Cap Room of $24m and glaring needs to fill in WR, L-OT, CB, S, LB.
I remain convinced the proper course of action,
Fill WR with low cost FA players, probably 2 of them
L-OT, find one in FA
CB, S with strong Draft at these positions, use draft round 1,2,3 on them
Release /Trade TT ... sign Simmons (sp) from Denver as 1 year stop gap
Get your franchise QB next year |

That doesnt mean they're going to move one of their best young guys for magic beans
He's really not. He's good defensively the way everyone thought kulikov and bogosian were good defensively. And at 5.5 mil? Hard pass like the crazy chick who loves horses. |

On GR this am he claims we have guys who are actually pretty good on the shootout - first 2 names out of his mouth are Ennis and Girgs (who were not among the 3 picked against PITT) and sam was NOat among the 7 he named.
The shoot out is low on my priorities of things to fix - before this weekend we haven't even seen it since December.
But what does that answer say about decisions made in game and deploying people consistent with their skills? |

if they bring brown back, I think they will be fine at lb's
if you cut tyrod, your up to 40 mil
need to hit on your draft picks for sure |

I'm okay with Alzner, even at $5.5. They need at least 2 defensemen next year in order to be able to say "we feel like we are a playoff contender" with a straight face. The problem with Alzner would be if they signed him, and nobody else saying "yep, this is our guy". |

Is there literally any proof of this, or is this just reputation? Because this feels similar to saying Dan Girardi is still good |

at least 2 good defensemen**
you'd just be saddling yourself to another overpaid guy who cant really move the puck and isnt all that great defensively.
Smith would give you similar stats at half the cost/term. |

I'm not saying that there aren't better options out there. I'm just saying you can make it work with Alzner. What you can't do is make him the best defenseman you pick up. |
