It's a big loss when you realize JBs 5th round picks are better than his 1st round picks.

Tell that to Zetterberg and Datsyuk Lidstrom

I wouldn't have been upset if vantel had put demko and boeser on his list. I think fans have a right to be excited about those two players.

Aside from Tree, one of those D may be moved, hopefully for a good return at the draft. I would prefer it was Edler though

Think Sutter spends too much time on the beach instead of getting his players game ready!

I wonder if they do? I know the Expansion draft is a concern but maybe JB has made a deal where everyone can stay including Sbisa

I know. But that's a bit different situation. I think red wing management, coaching staff, and player development system has to be given some credit for turning those players into super stars.

I would be shocked if the Canucks could produce the same results in those really late rounds. Canucks have done a great job when you consider the likes of Hansen, etc. but those red wing players are a step above the rest.

Sedins are holding this team back

This team is bad for a variety of reasons and the Sedins have gotten older but they are still our best players except for Bo. Playing out the end of their contract which when signed was the discounted price you pay to keep home grown stars, doesn't make them bad it makes them old.

Also WD is not a very good coach and hasn't been since the first season but he seems like a nice guy the players like him. I don't blame WD for trying to win, I'm pulling for the team to make playoffs now too as the team has already accomplished my goals.

I can't wait until next year when the Sedins rebound a bit while playing less minutes and the mantra will change again....

I know one game can hardly provide scientific data but it was pretty obvious to me that the LA Kings took the wrong goalie...

Bishop was average at best. Miller Stole 2 points.

Bishop wanted out of Tampa. Miller wanted into LA.

Got to give credit to Gillis for retaining the twins and making a trade for Bo.

1000% disagree. We are years away from being competitive on a daily basis yet we have two 1000 point master players on the team to help the transition. This is a huge advantage.

I don't have any juicy inside intel. My opinion on Willie is essentially unchanged from Year 1.

Tank Nation might not like it, but he's still coaching to win games. His NHL record is going to appear next to his name until the end of time; he wants it to be as good as it can be.

I do think his coaching style breeds trust from his players and he deserves credit for the development we've seen from Bo, Sven, Granlund and the young D-men. As I've said before, I wish he'd be more responsive with his player management during games and more willing to make adjustments, more willing to ride the hot hand or mix things up to try to spark the team.

But perhaps those moves would erode the positives of his relationships with his players? It could be a double-edged sword.

Like many things Canucks-related, I think fans' emotions have a tendency to get overblown when it comes to Willie. Goldobin's ice time in his first game should not be cause for opening a special investigation.

Thanks Carol!
Spot on assessment, in my opinion.
