Remember that drama with Burke on the plane loaded with cash and the leafs coach getting fined for interference or whatever.

drama.

- bloatedmosquito

I curse Burke for not trying harder.

And their coach getting fined for tampering

I watched the comets game after the nuck game on tape, jake was the best player on the ice he was flying, making plays he wasn't out looking for the big hit although he could have numerous times so that tells me green is working with him to be a top 6 using his speed and skill and not just to go out and smash guys, just what I thought, hes coming along, as for demko he was outstanding, he was moving well, reading plays, never once out of position, he made some great saves.

Not by me it won't

I know you won't and I respect that you for the most part haven't changed your tune on the Sedins for a long time. It doesn't make you right though.

At least your aren't calling for them to be waived yet.... Perhaps in the summer

1000% disagree. We are years away from being competitive on a daily basis yet we have two 1000 point master players on the team to help the transition. This is a huge advantage.
- Beatle_john

Sorry what do you disagree with, did you mean disadvantage?

Not that this makes any sense to me either way.

Got to give credit to Gillis for retaining the twins and making a trade for Bo.

- bloatedmosquito

I give Gillis credit for a number of things just like I give Benning credit too....It's crazy how many feel like it is a competition.

We will see what the summer brings.

They are not our best players anymore even though some people on here call them that. I think Sutter Granlund and Sven have passed them .

You also forget that if Canucks were competitive (which they are not) you could probably find two good replacements for that kind of cap space as long as you keep away from signing friends of the Sedins with your cap money.

you would have thrown away the future to win a cup and you know it.

Not that I'm defending Gillis or anything.

Drafting has grown a lot since then two. Back then GMs handed out seconds like candy at Halloween . In the last couple of years now because of youth development has the outlook of second round picks become more important.

Behind Bo they are no doubt in my mind still our best forwards at this point. The other guys are useful players no doubt but night and day still.

I agree you could at this point sign two players for under 14 million that would replace their production. Anyone who thought the Sedins would still be top 30 scorers at 36 were delusional, that's the way contracts work.

Do you think Hossa is a bum as well? How about Lucic or Duchene, Stastny, Kopitar and many others who don't have as many points?

If the Canucks were competitive, the Sedins would also liked be a big part of it...There not competitive and won't be but insinuating it is because of the Sedins is false this team would be just as bad and most likely much worse without them.

I don't have any juicy inside intel. My opinion on Willie is essentially unchanged from Year 1.

Tank Nation might not like it, but he's still coaching to win games. His NHL record is going to appear next to his name until the end of time; he wants it to be as good as it can be.

I do think his coaching style breeds trust from his players and he deserves credit for the development we've seen from Bo, Sven, Granlund and the young D-men. As I've said before, I wish he'd be more responsive with his player management during games and more willing to make adjustments, more willing to ride the hot hand or mix things up to try to spark the team.

But perhaps those moves would erode the positives of his relationships with his players? It could be a double-edged sword.

Like many things Canucks-related, I think fans' emotions have a tendency to get overblown when it comes to Willie. Goldobin's ice time in his first game should not be cause for opening a special investigation.

- Carol Schram

Carol, I agree with you about Goblins lack of ice time being blown out of proportion like all things Canucks. But it's an accumulation of bizarre decisions by Willie. His deployment of Vey, Magma, Horvat, chaput. Having Dorset on the ice with th goalie pulled. It's a 100 small bizarre things that have warranted his dismissal. I want him fired on the last day of the season. Let him ride out his last year

love hate relationship, there stuck in there own zone a lot, they hook and hold because there to slow but yet they can still put up points 40 to 50 now which isn't horrendous.

I wouldn't have been upset if vantel had put demko and boeser on his list. I think fans have a right to be excited about those two players.
- bloatedmosquito

Demko has a 1.5 GAA and 9.60 % his last 3 starts

I thought Hossa's extension was too long but it was drawn up to retire in these years without a huge penalty . The NHL screwed up some teams.

I thought the year before Lucic should have signed 3-4 years at 4.75 -5 here. So yes I think the Oilers will regret .

Kopitar is surrounded by slugs. He has the same old man syndrome we have here only much longer.

I don't like Stastny and I am not a big fan of Duchene.

Sedins are holding this team back

This team is bad for a variety of reasons and the Sedins have gotten older but they are still our best players except for Bo. Playing out the end of their contract which when signed was the discounted price you pay to keep home grown stars, doesn't make them bad it makes them old.

Also WD is not a very good coach and hasn't been since the first season but he seems like a nice guy the players like him. I don't blame WD for trying to win, I'm pulling for the team to make playoffs now too as the team has already accomplished my goals.

I can't wait until next year when the Sedins rebound a bit while playing less minutes and the mantra will change again....

Playoffs

By making bad trades which didn't contribute? He made the deal for BoHo, a good trade for both teams. His condescending arrogance limited his trade partners, aside from Dale Tallon who turned MG into his byatch.
