Subban is exempt so if you are saying him plus fourth traded to protect Sbisa plus Guance then Vegas has to pick someone else. Like DD...? - Nuck4U
Nope you are wrong. They take Subban as their selection agreed by the Canucks and that is the one player that goes to Vegas.
To guide the LVK to that selection Canucks agree to trade a fourth round pick for future consideration.
Each team only loses one player |

Because Edler is 30 years old, I'd be much more inclined to move him during this rebuilding phase. Probably has higher value as well. - LeftCoaster
You think Edler has higher value than Tanev? |

Well who are all these UFA Dmen that cost 1 mill and can play under this system ? |

Only because of an "agreement" to share, not because they actually do.
And I know (assume) you wouldn't know this, why would you, you've probably never been here. But, the companies that do business up here, do so under the most stringent policies in the world! Canada produces the cleanest oil in the world.
When they remove the overburden (soil) above the oil sands, they extract the oil and reclaim the land back to where you'd never know an extraction process existed there.
Nature left oil deposits here that rise to the surface during the summer and create puddles that animals get trapped in, it naturally runs off into lakes and streams and rivers polluting them, blame nature/God for that, not the oil companies. - LeftCoaster
Using the CAPP argument i see...ight.
You certainly would know more on the subject then I however, there's no denying that its a pretty controversial project, judging simply by the amount of blow-back it receives.

Projecting prospects is challenging. Some are late bloomers and some peak early. Some show they have talent and some get exposed for lack of talent. I think we can assume that OJ will be better than Subban, but I am not convinced Brisebois will be more than just another mediocre shutdown defender.
One projection site that compares player stats has Subban 33% chance at NHL player, while Brisebois only has 17%. One has more comparables due to size than the other, but highlights that they both still have a ways to go - WhiteLie
While I agree that it's extremely challenging projecting prospects, Brisebois is a much higher end prospect at this point. Size, skating and high IQ. Subban is an extreme longshot. |

I just looked at the list of free agents . I will stick with Sbisa for a few more years thanks |

He's playing on a poopty team, all we need is a stop-gap guy. |

A stop gap guy like Sbisa who is affordable , fits in well and knows the system? |

He'll probably want at least 3 but he'll want term for sure. He'll sign with whoever is willing to give him 6+ years. |

Not sure I would even want him to tell you the truth. We're finally in a position of assets on D and there's no need for him. |

Look how well it worked for JV and mcaan not going back to Jr - Bullfrog77
JV & McCann r not OJ.
OJ forces his way onto the team or if not then its whether its Europe or Jr's.
Europe wins out & SHL division 1 is optimum |

So you do agree with Benning's strategy of remaining competitive?
This might be a game by game compete and not a playoff compete but it is remaining competitive. - Reubenkincade
Maybe competitive is in the context of play hard for 60mins game in n game out.
WIn or lose is not the foremost priority as long as there is good signs of growth. |

Projecting is an inexact science for sure. If JB can supply a roster that has some veterans to keep the team even keeled & the D is a strong and marinated group it allows youths opportunity to excel & be insulated. Opening up the offence is one thing but better off if the D can withstand the hiccups. So resign Miller for a nice 1yr deal to give next season solid tending so the youths mistakes r not confidence killers. Its that Marky isn't that 60-65 starter yet. Rather not experiment in goal thinking next year is key in the new core really takeover & grab the reigns. Sedins or not the kids will be expected to be even better. Winger depth next year is looking like a ton of competition & the skill to go with it. |
