As a kid, me and my friends watched that film religiously...too many times to count.
Haven't seen it in years now of course.

Thanks Carol. 5-4 Canucks. Goblin with the hattrick. PLAYOFFS
- CanuckDon

I was doing some back reading and i noticed some posting line ups for next season. In those line ups they had place Goblin on the second line wing. And no sign of JV at all.

Have we not been down this road before? It's madness.

The guy who owns Uber is a jerk. Uber drivers can rate passengers as well as the other way around.

The guy who owns the company has one of the worst passenger rating you can have.

- bloatedmosquito

Living in Yaletown how can you not be excited? How many times do you order a cab and they pick up a different passenger enroute. This is huge news. The cab companies are on their way out. Decades of horrible customer service and they finally will get what they deserve.

He is the shiny new prospect. I could see JV starting out on the 4th line next year. He is slowly making progress (very slowly).

We did the same with 'The Wall'. Same self-destruction theme.

I think JV has a much better shot at the line up than Goldy or Goblin or whatever.

Hasn't JV shown that he has the tools to compete in the NHL? He's a bit immature that's all. Jeez, at the least we now have some legitimate rookie competition at camp for once.

Hated that knee on knee against LE the other night :/.... but at least because of the injury we will get a real good look at Goldy and more of Boucher.

Looks like we will be drafting #5 ish..... Owen Tippet?

don't get your hopes up with Uber. We have them here in Ottawa, I called 4 times so far, the last 2 times they never showed up.

Speaking of Sopel, he has a very moving piece on Players' Tribune today, about his battle with dyslexia and how he's trying to make a difference now that his hockey career is over.

Give them a bad rating? It's a remarkable service in the US.

Yah, can't say I've ever really had a good experience with them, be it in MTL or Ottawa.

I'll take the 60 year old, speeding, (insert middle-eastern minority here), over the college kid driving his mommy's compact 15 below the limit

(frank) Uber.

@bloated

i love that line. totally quote it all the time. second favourite line from that movie. the best line is "you okay?" "nah man, i'm pretty fcuking far from okay."

i guess both lines can describe the team.

I don't see JV on this team next, I thought it was pretty telling when JB didn't call him up on the bigs Mumps callup (what was it, like rendullic, Labate and grenier?) I think they really want to let JV develop for a while in utica, whereas Goldy has been ready for a while in the AHL

Be careful what you wish for, Uber drivers aren't screened, aren't trained, aren't going to be required to be licensed as taxi drivers nor will they be required to get extra insurance. The taxi service in the Lower Mainland does suck, but Uber (and things like it) isn't the answer.

Cheers for that.
Great read, really digging this stuff coming out of the tribune of late.
Awesome that players are able to shed light on these important and difficult to discuss topics.

Props to my man Sopes!

It often takes me 30 -45 minutes to get a cab. If you work in the suburbs cabs work. They don't work downtown

Move downtown and see if you change your tone. It's a disaster the majority of drivers don't give a sh!t about their passengers and they have zero accountability
