Its smart on Chi too, sign a decent NCAA/Euro kid, play him with Toews/Hossa, Kane/Panarin, let the rack up points and sell high. As long as that core is going strong they can manufacture assets

Hawks r thin on assets other than their well paid star core.
I don't give Bowman much credit at all in fact other than cap juggling.
Tallon built that team & Bill Wurtz died & got out of the way.

Stars lead & drag a team to wins.

Im not claiming these guys to be core pieces, or all stars, but the Hawks are perennial contenders because they find ELC's and make their value increase in order to keep the cycle going
