I travelled around the world and Vancouver is brutal if you don't live near a train. Compared to most major Cities it's a franking joke. Haven't been to Auckland so I'll take your word for it - CanuckDon
I don't take taxis just train, walk, or drive for work. Very rarely take the bus but overall I'm satisfied with the transit system. But my whole world is downtown so I'm a bit biased. |

You mean that token bus service that randomly appears from time to time
Didn't you guys just approve and/or begin construction of a metro? - Whiskey-Tango
When i got here 6 years ago, there was a west, north, east and central bus companies, all separate. Only recently were they synced up.
They have just broken ground building an inner city train loop, which is long overdue.
So yes, moving in the right direction, but about 25 years behind Vancouver imo.

I'll always give him credit for getting everyone to work hard for him, the player's clearly like his personality. But he's really not a good strategist.
If the plan is to actually rebuild properly, I'd even consider Bob Hartley. Before I get ripped, here's why:
1) He's not afraid to give young player prominent roles
2) His teams always play with a backbone, something many here are worried that the youth isn't learning to do.
3) His system sucks for possession hockey, but it's more about stretch passes and odd man rushes so it'll be entertaining at least and fits, and the team will still suck enough to get a top pick. Different from cycling the puck that some people are bored of.
4) Fire him when the team is on the upswing again(talent-wise) and bring in a coach with a better system
I know a lot of people will want Gallant, but I'm just throwing another name out there.

Yes, I know this is well thought out but I hate Bob Hartley so no. |

Might get the Sedins/Edler to be more open to getting traded at the TDL next year
Sven Baertschi and Markus Granlund probably won't love it |

Your opinion is correct.

Like many on here, not a big Willie fan. He may have gotten the guys to "buy-in" but I can't stand the way he deploys players throughout the line-up. I'd rather see what the future has in store, instead of watching Willie double shift Megna because Willie thinks he can save his job.
A coaching change is the most exciting thing that I'm looking forward to this summer - PetrolSexual
I just can't think of anyone available that I'd be interested in replacing him with. Yes, the deployment is frustrating at times, but we said the same thing with both AV and Torts. Both those coaches went on to have some success with other teams that were better stocked or developed.
It seems like we're getting there slowly, but unless Willie loses the room (like both AV and Torts), I don't see the need to change yet. But next season will be the show me year. |

If torts couldn't do it why do you think hartley could?
Edit: remember when crow did the puppet string move at hartley? So funny on so many levels. |

I hope WD gets through this season and prove he can adapt. He is stubborn as an ox when it comes to veterans. I say don't give him too many veterans to lean on, except for the obvious handful, and force him to prove he can work with youth. Otherwise, just bring TG in. - Hshao16
I think Tony Gallagher would suck as a coach. |

- Tryamkin is back
- Markstrom out multiple weeks
- Eriksson out for at least a week

Torts was close...he only needed another few months
He also broke Edler so that kinda defeated the purpose though |

He's coaching for his job/next job so I'm not surprised that he doesn't want to risk losing games to get some kid ice time. Coaches just don't trust players who are iffy defensively, young and new to the team mid-season. |

I'm 99% sure Hartley does the same poop, only he has self restraint to keep it in the locker room |

I'm guessing Columbus wasn't on his eight team trade list. |

That roster suits him better, he's done a nice job there. He was right about this core being stale. |

Aquilini didn't - Nucker101
i think he did. my opinion is that aq made a business decision not a hockey decision.
(and i'm also of the opinion that in the mid to long run, it was a bad business decision as well.... but then again i'm not a billionaire like his family is.) |
