Seems like two of our most integral pickups are guys that were perpetually in his doghouse, seems inherently bad to me. That and (frank) Hartley. - neem55
Ya I hear you and personally I always thought Hartley was a bit overrated…he was handed that Av's cup team with super-studs and really never did anything (albeit with some decent rosters) since. |

Meh, preseason testing. Who knows who's sandbagging and who's not.
I must say I that I'm a tad disappointed with McLaren, however. Honda is totally letting them and Alonso down. I just wonder how long until BMW comes back to F1 given that McLaren and BMW have a deal for BMW to provide engines for future McLaren road cars - PetrolSexual
New F1 cars are looking/sounding/performing way better though a big positive. |

I said two years ago Canucks should get Hartley only for the reason to push country club members out the door. It is a little late for that now and it would disrupt the mojo.
Right now I don't see a need for a coach change unless some high touted coach gets fired in the summer.
We are not winning next year and we have two players that it is too late to show an old dog new tricks.

Hartley would not be at the top of my list for coach's available.
I'd rather Hitch, Gallant, Terrien, but not really sold on them either.
Terrien would probs be my top pick if someone put a gun to my head and made me choose. |

Like many on here, not a big Willie fan. He may have gotten the guys to "buy-in" but I can't stand the way he deploys players throughout the line-up. I'd rather see what the future has in store, instead of watching Willie double shift Megna because Willie thinks he can save his job.
A coaching change is the most exciting thing that I'm looking forward to this summer - PetrolSexual
absolutely.
trevor really seemed to dodge the question about WD being here next year with 'we'll look at our options'. Never once did he say he thought WD would be here next year.
Sounds more like he means "we'll see who's available, if no one we may be stuck with him"
Should have hired Julien when we had the chance. 6-2-0 since filling in for therians 1-5-1.
Another and uber recent example for those who dont think coaches make a difference in outcome. |

So we'd have Torts, Willie and Claude on the head coach payroll?
What's the rush?
French head coach?
Terrien is available still. |

When did we have a chance to sign Julien?

WD was just on the radio
- Tryamkin is back
- Markstrom out multiple weeks
- Eriksson out for at least a week
- Says Goldobin has to earn his ice time - Nucker101
did he mention chapoo was the teams biggest star? |

For a team that has been scored on 186 times Fourth Liner Chaput takes a lot of abuse seeing he is only -4 |

That roster suits him better, he's done a nice job there. He was right about this core being stale. - Nucker101
and the last coach we had that actually did anything....he has passion.
He sucked in other ways of course, but he had passion for the game no doubt. |

Honest question.
You would prefer Torts over WD? |

Means to same thing for everyone. Play the 'right' way by his standard/system. It's worked for a lot of the young guys so far... except JV - neem55
too bad his way has us in 28th 2 straight years. His way doesnt produce anywhere close to enough wins |

I thought he was horrible, hate his pov, hate his style, hate his temperament, horrible personality, glad to see him gone.
i thought he stunted development of players, opposite of WD.
happily take that 2nd rounder. |

I hated all that too. He did get the team a top pick . He would have had Edler Hansen the twins all begging for a trade two years ago when they had value |

Torts got us Virtanent (Aquilin's guy). If we didn't have Tort's we would have finished lower and got Ehler's or Larkin. Tort's was the worst thing to happen to this franchise in a decade. |

If its long term then Gallant would be best. If its say 1 year just to teach the team better positional play (then retire from coaching) then hitch. He'd get the team to change for sure.
I would never pick therien.
Lets see whos available in the summer. There also may be some great coaches in europe as well. |

it wasnt pointed at the player....it was willies interview I was mentioning.
We all know he has a love affair with 4th line grinders and giving them top line duty |
