Yeah, I don't believe at all the Kane trade landed Eichel, and it didn't become a theory until recently - sbroads24
I recall discussions at the time of the trade circling around the fact that Kane's surgery would guarantee he brought no immediate benefit. |

Once the trade went down, everyone was ecstatic that Kane wouldn't be able to help the team what so ever. |

It's hard not to be negative right now - they came out as a disaster last night, and even Jack's three points are tempered by my suspicion that he has mostly abandoned any game plan by Bylsma and is doing what he thinks is best. He's a great talent, but I'm not sure that makes him a great teammate.
None of that is grounds for wholesale rejection of any positivity, though. |

2 of his points were on the PP though, where it seems as though the whole PP plan is centered around him. |

But the team was already firmly locked into last place at the time of the trade, so there really is no proof that the kane trade landed us Eichel. We could have just stayed the course with what we had and still landed him. |

I agree. It's easier to be positive if you just accept the season is gone and be optimistic about the changes this team is going to see over the summer. Still a long ways away. But you damn well know changes are coming, and we have a solid group of forwards. With a better puck moving defense, the forwards will benefit. And so will the (frank)ing goalie. |

Agreed, i believe it just appears that way because as you would expect from a broken team, there are far more negatives than positives. |

Coach needs to go. |

His play 5v5 has been really very selfish. I get it, and I forgive it, and it works better than a lot of other things we've tried, but that can't be good for his teammates, especially if it's contrary to the game plan. |

But to his defense, he has new linemates every other game. Hard to get into a flow with that going on. Like you said, it works better than other things, but he needs a coach that can guide him into becoming that complete player. Disco isn't that coach. |

Eichel .978 ppg
Matthews .846 ppg
That's all I got to say about that. |

How about throwing the fans a (frank)ing bone? |

Firing him would be purely for the fans. There would be zero benefit to the team. |

Konecny as in the guy who has 24 total points on the season and someone who had such a crisis of confidence during the season that it was even brought up on the broadcast last night?
Why does anyone think Lehner is getting anything other than a bridge deal as an RFA? - kingcong39
He was returning from injury, that's why it was talked about.
Maybe Lehner's confidence should have been a point of discussion after Kucherov stole his manhood |

There would be zero detriment to the team..you think they come out any flatter or play any lazier for an interim coach? I doubt its even possible. |

it was the Flyers announcers, so they don't really care about anyone else. |

He sat him for a shift. He sat Foligno for a while after his brutal TO's and played Moulson with Eichel.
I don't agree with it, but I get it |

I have thought the same about wondering if Jack is just doing his thing now ignoring Disco Dunce .... if it is selfish, I think part of that is resulting from him having spent 35 games setting up teammates who can't finish multiple times per game. At this point, let's see him develop his own game for the rest of the season.
Next season under a new coach he can fit it then. |

Eichel and Kane are the only guys consistently making plays lately.
23 was invisible again, which is expected because he had that one nice pass to Eichel a few games ago. |

if the standings werent so close id agree, keep him and get a higher pick. Then we can pretend something good came out of hiring him |
