Our defense sucks letting in all those goals .

The Sabres and Flyers are very similar. Some good talent just not a complete team. A Playoff bubble team. Probably 5-10 teams in the same boat.

You can't win playing that style in today's NHL. Dan just doesn't seem to learn from past mistakes

Time for a "Hockey Guru" to come in and be named President. Someone below the owner and above the GM. There needs to be more leadership at the top instead of GMTM calling all the shots here...

I pointed it out in chat last night and never did see a replay to answer my question, but where the hell was Gorges' help on one of those goals? He came into the zone, pointed out the need for coverage and then properly went to mark his man, yet in flew a Flyer unmolested to score, only to be trailed into the camera shot by Gionta I think after the goal was already in.

Not excusing it, but I'm sure there are a lot more lost points elsewhere on this team, and I know he's not great 1-on-1 with a forward either (was surprised on the stop he made last night at one point).

I just think the complaining about the goaltender is crazy when the defense is constantly being called out as being so horrendous.

Because they invested in goaltending to be part of the solution, not to be average or downright comical at times.

Often overlooked because of everything else thats wrong but the veterans brought in to help guide the youth was a horrific miscalculation.

I understand having a bad game . But there are way too many of them.

Agreed. I was all for giving him a chance . Now I'm leaning towards a replacement for him.

Neutral fan here. I'd stick with management. Consistency is important. Coaching is a harder question -- you have to have a sense of if the room believes in the coach. But from a distance it's easy to see the goaltending isn't good enough. You guys have 2 goalies who are marginal starters in this league. I'd estimate it's cost you guys 8-10 points at minimum this year...

He's not that good of a coach. He never would of won cup with the Pens if Therrian hadn't already laid such a strong defensive foundation.

I know he's just a college goalie but i genuinely believe they already have his replacement in the system. Im hopeful that they can work something out where Petersen gets a fair shot when hes ready.

Yep . The chemistry should have been seen by now . Line changing ruins any thought of that.
