Gionta is not leading this team at all. Not sure if anybody else caught it, but when D-Lo was fighting, right in front of #12, he wasn't even watching. He was looking around, at the ice, at the score board. How can you not watch a fight? And dude hardly ever talks post game. Where is the accountability and the bleed blue and gold attitude? If they resign him, put his ass on the fourth line and rip the C- give it directly to Jack. get a coach in here who isn't afraid of youth. the pens won last year BECAUSE of youth, not despite of it. Toronto is going to be light years ahead of us next year because they are putting their young guys out there. It's a young man's game. we have pieces, we have talent. our leadership is suspect and has to change. Fire the coach, hand the bus keys to Jack, get some D that can at least not be embarrassing, and let's go!

I have a lot of respect for those two. And they both know football more than any of us. And it's definitely a good approach to just get good players.

But why a FB. If there's an obsolete position in the NFL, it's that one. Only reason I see is that, because Shady is bullpoop at blocking, he'd basically be there to run block. If he's not involved in the passing game, just hire a giant oaf for blocking duties.

While this is a good point and it does in one way make sense. But yet again it's Buffalo chasing bad money with mad money. You pay the hell out of one RB, so you have to sign another back to make up for what the other guy is lacking.

Infer away. But assuming so much based on Gionta not watching our most useless player (arguably) fight is still not a good reason to strip him of his captaincy.
