We should talk about re-signing MDZ to a cheap 1 year deal, if he's open to it, speaking of rehabbing. And I cannot imagine for the life of me anyone will sign him to more. The upside is just too large, now that he seems to be finding his game again, and he had 2 quality years here while rehabbing before. He provides another veteran presence, and if he keeps playing so well, that's an asset that can be maximized next deadline and another prospect called up. Or he helps the team through the year and moves on. It's just the definition of no risk, high reward.

Just think:

Provorov-Gudas
MDZ-Ghost
Morin-Sanheim
......or whatever combo. But that would require Hakstol to not play MacDonald, and he's his new favorite and we can look forward to 3 more years of Provorov-MacDonald, so all this is probably empty talk

I think next season is the last we see Mac in a Flyers/Phantoms Uni....

I'm praying he gets stomped by the kids in camp and ends up riding a bus for his 5 Million

Wasn't this from the Stan Lee inspired NHL comics or some such?

I agree Weal reminds me of Sheary of last year a little, small sample size but he does. The speed is so obvious. Finally we have some players who push a D back with their speed.

Yeah, they did one for each team.

And like most "edgy" things done by the NHL, it was a disaster.

I am hopeful that they are just trying to get them to play RD under the assumption they'd be able to switch back. I don't see it as a long term banishment to the right side.
- YuenglingJagr

No, eventually at least one will presumably switch back to LD, probably when young Philippe enters into it. Just that Ghost has been pretty locked in on the right, even when he's had a partner that can play the right too. Sanheim they seem to like with Morin, so who knows. But right now, they seem to be at RD, and OK with it. I mean next season they could have MacDonald/Gudas/Ghost on the right and Provorov/Sanheim/Morin on the left. As I said, that hard-on Hakstol has for Provorov-MacDonald could affect things. I think he'd just continue to choose to play MacDonald anyway.

I'm not even saying this is realistic (though Hextall is religious about not assuming prospects fill spots and there are short-term veterans). Just the hypothetical of it attracts me.

According to the GM meetings:
No time outs allowed after an icing

No change to the offsides challenge

EDIT: and still no word on the Olympics

There is no way I could be an NHL GM because I would want to use logic when discussing rule changes

Also byes will possibly be 15 teams one week and 16 teams another week. First two games after the bye against teams that did the same bye week.

And Sweden wants prospects kept in Sweden not the AHL.

Good. They should also change to call icing on a shorthanded team, with no timeouts allowed when short handed.

No change to the offsides challenge

They're idiots.

EDIT: and still no word on the Olympics

I hope they don't go.
