Can you think of any potential reason it might make sense to send Weal back to the AHL at some point? - MJL
Sure but can't you see why it might make sense to keep him here with the big club. I'm just happy with the way he has played and if he continues to improve the trade is even better. It good to see potential in these younger guys. |

Sure I can, and I didn't state that wouldnt make sense to keep him up. The poster I quoted is going to criticize the team even if what they do makes sense, and hasn't considered a scenario where it would make sense. |

I don't think this is correct. Raffl had over 100 minutes of PP time last season. Cousins and Weise have 70 and 60 minutes this year, respectively. - jmatchett383
I'm looking up the actual numbers. In what world should Nick Cousins see more offensive opportunities Raffl? |

Good post. It's not even about Mason really. To choose Neuvirth over him as your #1 is asinine.
Only thing I could see leading to that choice is salary demands by Mase. - flyer_nutter
I fear the direction this team is headed in. To me, Mason is the guy. |

What is it??..20 some years in the playoffs straight? It was bound to happen eventually. Why cant we just suck for just two more years and get top 5 picks. Our d will,on paper, look amazing. Our forward group....not so much right now. |

I predict mass hysteria and confusion among our beat writers when they finally realize Lyon has moved ahead of Stolarz on the organizational depth chart. |

It will probably make sense on April 10th. |

Well, a world where Raffl is injured, as in the case right now.
I'm not disagreeing with your thought process, just stating that Raffl, in his career, has more PP TOI that either Cousins or Weise has this season. |

Someone like Nick Cousins shouldn't get PP time at all, past or present. Whether Raffl is 20 minutes ahead or 20 minutes behind. I'm not neurotically looking up the numbers. I'm saying player A has been a good offensive player for years and player B hasn't earned this type of ice time, nor does it seem like he's doing much with it.
Yes, Raffl is hurt right now but he hasn't been hurt all season. |

Cousins is more skilled than Raffl and better suited for the PP, unless you're talking about a net front role. |

Until recently when Sean Couturier was put in front of the net, we really didn't have one on the second unit. |

There's nothing neurotic about it: it's a readily-available stat on NHL.com. Took me all of 2 minutes to grab. |

Cousins and Weise have/haven't played more PP time this season that Raffl has in his career.
Jordan Weal should/shouldn't be sent to the AHL. |
