If they bring in Boeser, that burns a year of his ELC- that's yet to be signed right?
that seems like decent gamble to get the kid signed but a waste of a year to watch him play 5+ games.
I'd hope to get him signed in the summer and let him come into training camp and prove if he's ready, if he is, great, let him develop to the NHL slowly, the way Bo did in year one. - Brooks_Light
Yes it can be used as an enticer to draw out a player earlier. However, the CBA allows for contract to have mutual agreement to extend ELC one year if less then 10 games played.
So on scenario is have a free a audition and development opportunity now. Otherwise if you don't agree to clause then if you sign you will have to wait to report until next season. At that point could wind up not knowing enough about what it takes and end up in the minors.
Remember once BB signs college hockey is over for him. But Canucks control when and where he plays. It might suit him to agree to clause extension to get a few free games in to be better prepared for next season.

Benning on Miller: will sit down with him and his agents after the season. "He's a guy we'd like to try to have back." #canucks

With the way Miller has played, I wouldnt be surprised if he prices himself too high for VAN. I am sure he would take less to go to ANA so I think he doesnt return

Willie does some seriously stupid shyt sometimes. But, He's being asked to make chicken salad out of chicken shyt and isnt doing a horrible job.
Making younger guys earn their time ala, Horvat, Tryamkin, Stetcher has worked out well.
No reason he cant slowly bring along Goldy aswell. People are too impatient.
Christ, the rebuild started a couple freakin days ago and everyone is already starting to lose their fukking minds.
Keep in mind Willie is playing for his job, And Ig that means playing someone whos more defensivly sound in the last five minutes of a game over goldy he's going to do it. - vancity787
Glorious news that TSN 1040 has lost the contract to broadcast the Vancouver Canucks. I guess that's what you get when you run an organization into the ground day after day.

you can only be soo critical of the team you are broadcasting before eventually they throw up the middle finger and say enough is enough.

Don't know who Lee Chin is but if this is true this is a huge PR nightmare for the Canucks. Just when you thought, how much worse can it get? Next up TL & JB's spin on this, Cheers!

Probably, but nevertheless it's embarrassing to the team. FA is going to lose his sh*t over this. The fact this guy called the canucks "one of the NHL's top teams" is hilarious.

I think they must love the line "The Wexford hurler spent a week training with the Vancouver Canucks last month, one of the top teams in the professional NHL"

Not sure anyone from the Irish Times is trying to stir the pot in Vancouver, but if anyone in this market is surprised that hockey players get drunk all the time and are not the kind of person you want your daughter hanging around, then they are living under a rock
