Not sure anyone from the Irish Times is trying to stir the pot in Vancouver, but if anyone in this market is surprised that hockey players get drunk all the time and are not the kind of person you want your daughter hanging around, then they are living under a rock - WhiteLie

Willie does some seriously stupid shyt sometimes. But, He's being asked to make chicken salad out of chicken shyt and isnt doing a horrible job.
Making younger guys earn their time ala, Horvat, Tryamkin, Stetcher has worked out well.
No reason he cant slowly bring along Goldy aswell. People are too impatient.
Christ, the rebuild started a couple freakin days ago and everyone is already starting to lose their fukking minds.
Keep in mind Willie is playing for his job, And Ig that means playing someone whos more defensivly sound in the last five minutes of a game over goldy he's going to do it. - vancity787

lol even if he did, who gives a (frank). As long as he isn't getting hammered on the daily, players are human who should be allowed to knock back a few |

Why? - VanHockeyGuy
Because it impacts their performance. They are paid millions of dollars. Don't drink before a game. The Sedin's, Bieksa, Burrows, Horvat etc. None of these guys drink the night before games. Virtanen and Kassian do. Notice a trend? |

They couldnt trade places with an active player, (injury risk/contract insurance) thats why it had to be a former player. Not sure why they chose Auld though |

With their metabolisms at that young age one beer or a glass of wine the day before a game is fine. Plus it's healthy. |

It was Gudbranson. And a pint of beer or a glass of wine isn't going to effect their ability to play the following day |

they shouldn't, they are athletes and you would hope that they would choose not to. But IF they did, I don't see the harm in 1 drink. I get what you are saying though completely. |

Didn't seem to hurt the Oilers in the 80's who won 5 cups half-pissed and on Cocaine pretty much every game day. |
