Why are people acting like Seisito pulled a Simon or McSorley. It was a bad hit, yes. Enstrom partially did it to himself though. If Wheeler or Scheifle threw that hit there likely would have been no suspension.
The last time the Pens played vs the Jets two of their D men were injured. They knew going into this one that someone was going after Malkin. Say what you want but Seisito obviously had an impact in this game and the Pens won. - MacPatty
Yes, hockey needs guys who make impacts by making illegal hits....
I'll be waiting for your Wilson or Ovi retort. |

Who should it be?
Is there a such thing as emergency call ups this time of year? say for instance Fleury or Murray go down. Can Jarry be called up if the 5 callup limited is filled? - MattStrat
I'm not sure to be honest? It all depends on how close Letang is to coming back I'd imagine? |

Sundqvist called up. I like it. Curious to see how he looks with the big boys now. Hopefully he's dressed. - MattStrat
Didn't see that coming. Is he replacing Hornie on the roster? Maybe Cullen is sliding to wing? Sestito obviously suspended. |

I keep forgetting Horny is out : /
So yeah, I think you are correct. Sundy will get 4C and Cullen will probably get wing duties. |

Good theory. Probably a newb quesiton but does his call-up affect ELC or expansion draft?
I'm a big Sunny believer. I hope he gets to play. |

He's definitely eligible for the expansion draft. Dk's site keeps saying he will be on the protected list.
He has to play doesn't he? Fehr is gone, Sestito is suspended. I guess they could go with 7 dman because I believe Guance is still with the club.
Edit... I forgot Rowney is still up here, however I wouldn't imagine they'd call him up to sit in the press box. |

I only remember them saying a desire to protect him once. And that is before schultz became close to a must protect. |

I have him high on guys to protect list. But if we are only protecting 4 forwards I'm not sure he makes the cut. |

Who's more important? I wouldn't think Hags, Horny, Rust, or anyone else. Guentzel and Sheary are exempt. |

Why would we protect 4 d men? I'd rather lose Maatta (mostly his contract) than Sundqvist. |

I think you're too low on Sundqvist. At this point he's exceeding developmental expectations. There's legitimate hope he can be a 3C at this point. If we protect 7Fs, he makes my cut for the last spot over Wilson. |

Sestito wasn't there to deter Wheeler from fighting Malkin
Sestito was there to deter Malkin/Crosby/etc from receiving a game full of cheap shots and/or retaliation. Because Wheeler and Malkin decided to settle it themselves, and it ended there Sestito's presence was moot
This is what beta males like Ryan Wilson fail to understand
Malkin got away with a cheap shot on Wheeler
Malkin decided to step up and take his lumps from Wheeler for his actions
The case is now closed
Because Malkin did this, we don't have to worry about an ongoing rivalry of revenge going back and forth in future games
More players need to be like Malkin here |

JMO, but I don't see them remotely considering the 4/4 option to save Maatta. His skating has got to be a red flag for the coach and GM. |

If the little guy fron the jets didnt obviously turn his back to avoid a hit it would have been a clean hit. Im fine with the four games but feel zero remorse for him. If your that stupid to turn your back in that situation you deserve whatevers coming. - Grinder47
Maybe one of the few guys that get it!! Enstrom is the one who caused his own pain. |

While I slightly agree that Enstrom turned into it, Sestito had way more intent coming in fast for a hit (which was going to be shoulder to shoulder until he turned) then Buffs routine rub along the boards. Buffs play happens 10 times a game and no one gets hurt, but buff being as big as he was caused some damage. - j.boyd919
Yes he was looking to crush someone. He just got done asking Byfuglien to fight. Sestito can't control that to many players in the NHL show their backs to try and prevent being hit. |
