so out of curiosity you guys were all over jhs a week ago for his "issues" and being immature. now that you've seen him play and play well hes all good? I mean you have had a chance to see him post game and here him speak, so do you think it was him or the powers that be saying he was a problem? - Upstate_isles
He has always been a good kid. He was just immature. His issues were never NBA or NFL type issues. He was not getting DWI's or beating up women. He was Late and cocky. He talked too much and did not play enough defense. It's silly they keep bringing it up at this point.
He has always been very cool to kids when he was at the rink... always.. big smile, autographs, engaging..etc. |

From reading about prior issues, sounds like he has grown up a bit. It is what it is. Apparently he was very immature thought he knew better than everyone else and has now realized he doesn't know everything. Sounds like a typical teenager growing up. |

My guess is both. I think he needed to get his head right. So far it looks like he has. I just hope some success doesn't make him regress. |

Lightning managed to beat the Minnesota Wild 4-1 despite losing Vladislav Namestnikov, Tyler Johnson and Cedric Pacquette in the process.
Tampa had 3 centers get hurt last nigh tin their game. |

I think hes actually working harder at this point, no question hes a ball of energy out there. everything he does is full speed and even his stickhandling is great, stands out with it and I cant wait to add barzal as he plays a fast game too |

Kids grow up. Thompson did a nice job twisting his nutz down in BP and the kid has played well up here. That said it's only 4 -5 games and theres plenty of time to put your foot in your mouth or miss a team bus or be late to practice, which we know he was capable of, unfortunately.
Look lets face it, the kid was not chosen for the CWJ team and was past up by many in the draft because of issues even though he had better skill and raw talent then most players chosen before him.
"We" on Hockey Buzz didn't make him spew shat from his mouth to the media saying he would be the best in his draft in 3 years or that the CHA don't know what their doing when they past on him, BLAH BLAH BLAH.
This Site also didn't make him miss his first practice with The Islanders and also show up late at BP for a game. There is a history of the kid phucking up. That said people grow up and I hope for his sake he continues to play well and most importantly, act like a professional and do the jersey he's wearing proud. |

Just because I like breaking your balls, I'd like to point out that Cam Talbot was late to work this year, Gaudreau/Monahan last year.

I don't know if you watched the game, but he had a shift with about 4 minutes left in regulation that was ridiculous. Really impressed me the way he fought, kept the puck either on his stick or close enough and then made a pass after 30-40 seconds of fighting. - potvin05
I sure did and that was an awesome shift |

There are currently 46 players in the AHL with numbers 50+. The highest was 92. Take it for what it's worth. - Isleshockeyman

people forget that these are kids. Think about all the stupid things you did when you were 19,20 yrs old and suddenly oversleeping once doesn't sound too crazy.
Ho Sang Looks great out there. Also I think its about time I and maybe some of you can swallow some pride and say Ladd and Chimera look like good pickups. they doing exactly what they were intended to do.
I cant believe after that horrible start (he was injured too) - Ladd is up to 19 goals.

I don't doubt that. Unfortunately players with his history have sophomore slump written all over them. I'm not saying it's going to happen. Hopefully being with the big club and seeing first hand the effort guys like JT put in will keep him on track. |

Then I guess JHS was right and everyone else is wrong. My god the inhumanity just picking on a random kid. The NHL is notorious for that
Look your not breaking my balls, I have a company and when someone is late I get it. When someone comes in with a reputation of being late, have a big mouth and is un coachable or not a team player because he knows better than everyone else and I hire them and give them a shot and they are late miss the most important meeting of their career, etc, Then there's a problem. It doesn't matter who else was late. He gave himself the reputation and baggage, no one else did, and quite honestly it looks like he might have finally learned that you need to take blame for your Phuck ups and quit blaming it on others. You want to play with the pros and be on a pro team you need to act and be a pro.
I hope the kid has a unbelievable career because we could us it. He's made a good impression so far |

I'm just messing with you. I'm pretty much done with the entirety of the Ho Sang talk, regarding his number, past issues, etc... (in general, not specifically with you). The #66 talk seems to have died down and playing well pretty much shuts up your detractors about anything so it's time to just have fun watching the kid play.
He's electric with the puck and it's awesome to see. He's been pretty damn good away from the puck too. As someone else pointed out earlier, he had shift in the 3rd last night where he was getting the crap beat out of him and his motor never changed gears. That shift reminded me of the ridiculous WJC PK-shift that Cizikas had years ago, it was really awesome to see. I can deal with a goofy-ass cocky kid as long as he's busting his ass on the ice.
The kid's playing great so far in a small sample and I'm just gonna enjoy that. |
