Small? - neem55
Yes he's not tall at 5-10 but at 195lbs is solid enough. With speed and skills he could be a good middle six. Might be better as a winger in pros. He's definately an upgrade over Megna. |

So we were talking the other day about new coaches. And how there are not a lot of options out there, leading me to think about assistant coaches and ex players that coach.
How about the great one?
Hear me out.
Was never a fan of his coaching myself (who was).
But perhaps with a decent roster and competent assistants, he could turn the team around.
He would offer a huge injection of star power.
And he could bring MEssier back to town as an assistant. - dbot
yes assistant coaches can make or break a HC. I was thinking about it last time you asked this and I thought about baumgartner. I heard he is thought of very highly.
I wouldnt ever think gretzky in any way but messier maybe. He has respect and can tell a player to grow some balls. He might be a good special teams coach actually.
Since hitchcock is set to retire soon or only coach part time maybe have him replace pearns as the hometown eye in the sky. Less demanding gig for him and still gets to tweak the team. |

I like to think the nucks are turning the corner prospect wise, hopefully even more so after this year's draft.
One thing i don't get though is Gaunce. Lord knows he tries out there but he actually looks like he could get another 100 chances and still not get a goal. I mean i get different roles and certainly checker role but i mean c'mon, you want your 4th liner to have some chance of putting one in.
At times he looks like that bug guy in gym class who plays all the other sports well, but just can't figure out the coordination of stick and ball.
Can anyone shed some light on why he gets unlimited opportunity? Do you see him differently? - Sayros
My guess: trying to make him more marketable to Vegas so they dont take Sbisa

If Linden hires Messier to coach this team, in any form, I will literally fly to Vancouver and burn all of my Canucks paraphernalia and eat the ashes. |

I looked him up, the other knock is speed. I'd like our game in the future centered around grit and speed (I think JB does too thankfully), this guy doesn't fit the profile IMO |

A) Linden who was driven out of town over Messier would never hire him.
B) Messier would never want to coach , his a$$ to good for that, let alone ever come to the Canucks. |

I know this isn't popular, but anyone else think it might be best/reality that Boeser doesn't play at all for the Canucks next year or at least starts the year in Utica? |

He does skate well not a speed burner but quick enough. Though not a grinder yes. That would be Blake Winiecki, Center, St. Cloud State.
Anyway for what you said I'd go with Hults. My focus was on center here where Nucks are weak. They could always play wing, like Guance, if a better center is brought in. |

See how he looks in training camp and pre season and then make the call, a bit of time in the minors if not quiet ready wouldn't hurt. |

I think he should play for the Canucks. This was a somewhat wasted year in college. Utica and Vancouver for sure next year. |

Way things are going it seems there will be plenty of competition for top 9 spots at training camp. |
