I bet there will be someone who is drafted 3-10 who is better than the top 2

That kind of year it appears, but we will pick the one who all of a sudden cant score and gets hurt all the time freakishly, 3rd round pick will be better than 1st rounder in canuckville

Sure, but I bet that the top 2 will end up being better than the majority of the guys drafted between 3-10. It's all about the odds, and those 2 haver higher odds of becoming future core players.

And when you have mediocre/bad scouting to begin with, you definitely want to be drafting higher, especially in the first 2 rounds.

So the nucks will pick 3rd

Gaudette may end up being a top center we have been wanting, therefore making dynamic wingers and D more of a pressing need-Liljegren,Tolvanen,Tippett if we are picking 3-6

Offensive d man with a booming shot on the pp should be a priority, we could trade tanev, edler or even guddy for a top center, I don't think gaudette has top line center potential, we have lots of wingers now in the system.

Or he may not. In the mean time, keep drafting centers.

Like your enthusiasm for Gaudette. Would be nice to see what he can do if he goes pro now. If Nucks draft a stud Center for future 1/2nd line role he could slide into 3rd line. Couple years from now Sutter could be traded or stay on as new age fourth liner. That's all if the Nucks turn out to be a balanced no super star team when Sedins go.

Though many were scoffing some weeks back Guadette is not good enough for the NHL even beating Chaput out on the fourth line. So step by step I guess. Just get him signed and go from there.

Have a surplus at as many positions as you can so the team is prepared for busts.

right now he has as good of a chance, if not better, to be a# 2 centre in the NHL then any kid we draft this year

Getting Tippet I think would be a steal, if we pick 5/6/7. But Wingers are easier to acquire than centres (we just got two pretty good winger prospects for some minor deals), in such a flimsy draft... I'd take a Centre/Dman over a winger this draft. Just to stock the cupboards, after OJ, our best d prospect is apparently Subban/McEneny/Pedan (which is just sooo awful).

Where is Liljegren ranked now? Great skating swedish righty.... sounds like a perfect partner for Edler (if he's not traded before he makes the league)

I never said that.

Gaudette makes one or two very nice plays a game but he is not a dominating player.

my point is he progresses every year so if that keeps up next year he should be closer then we could have hoped when drafting him.
