Hey, look, there's great players taken in every draft, every draft! 1999 was one of the worst drafts in league history and we got two 1000 point guys out of it in the top three, you know, the best players in Canuck history. They weren't projected to be as good as they turned out....so don't tell me finishing low doesn't matter or help, it does.

i was at the first skate for the twins at 8 rinks , i took the afternoon off to go see them . The scouts may not have had high hopes for them but this fanbase did , i saw it with my own eyes the place was packed , there was a buzz for these 2 picks

Detroit has manged to win some cups and make the playoffs year after year until recently , so just having a window then blowing crap up to lose and pick high is not necessary

This draft is weak, like I said its a crapshoot who will turn out the best from 1 to 10, benning will look at the intangibles in this one.

I've never said it's the only way to build, I've simply always maintained it's a necessary tool in the building process.

I'm a bit confused.......maybe because I try to think out of the box, or the being an odd duck is a factor.....but why extend Miller? And why for 5 or 6 million? That's Price money.......
There might be some here that say he's as good as Price (in skill, IMO Price takes it hands down) but he's not........If Montreal were to trade him, they could get value....Miller is limited to where he wants to go if traded, which hand cuffs us.......I like Miller as a goalie...he is good....but 2 or 3 mil good, not 5 or 6......If someone else wants to pay him that, more power to them. Lots of FA goalies after july 1st......shouldn't we have a look first?


I AM 100% RESIGN THE SEDIN's (both at league minimum pay for 2 years). If they really want this team to win (and by proxy them) a stanley cup.....Why not, as through and through Canucks, take a pay cut and give the team flexibility to create a juggernaut, and they can come for the ride.............
