I think what Kypreos had to say on this makes sense (can't believe i just typed that).

Why would Miller want to re-sign here?
We may want him, but he is playing lights out at the moment and is obviously in the twilight of his career...he's going to want to a chance to compete for a cup and play near his wife in Cali.

I don't see him resigning here.

He could find a job with Anaheim, LAK or elsewhere, with a real shot at winning.

I see us going with Markstrom and a vet (not BAchman).

Ya sure if he wants to take a haircut as a backup if Cali teams even pursue him.
Which team is gonna pay him decent money as a backup & he even wants to ride the pine?

If so, our chances of obtaining that 2018 first overall pick goes up....Good guy, good player, good riddance.

We can't keep saying we want to get rid of the old, but are willing to accept a 2 year deal for Miller. Let's move on, sign a Kuemper or Condon or McElhaney or whatever free agent younger goalie to support Markstrom.

Demko has had 3 seasons of playing against men, 2 college & 1 in the AHL, he will be capable of providing some relief appearances, then I expect to see a lot more of him mid-season.

And crazy chicks....(I bet no one watches Legion).....Aubrey Plaza.....damn

I got a weird question the relates to hockey. Back in the day, TB did the publicity stunt (calm down, Phil said it was) of playing that lady in an exhibition game in goal. In today's politically correct world, if a woman (taking on all risks of playing a pro sport) wanted to play.....?

The moment a man body checked her, there would be protests of violence against women. Even though the player herself would be on the side of the league saying that's how the game is played.

Ya.

But I don't think Demko is ready. He's been great in Utica, but remains inconstant at that level. We won't be competitive next season, no point feeding Demko to the wolves.

Because he's would be a starter here. He would only be a back up or 50/50 at best in Ana. And LA and SJS, he's only a back up.

He wants to play.

I appreciate that, but if the the league got far enough to consider, I think the game might be different. Its been moving away from being a "physical" game for years though......its all about skill.....

With concussions being such a hot button......how long before little timmy in pee wee hockey is wrapped in bubble wrap because mom doesn't want him bumped.

So.....if in the future, if we move away from contact, and it becomes 75% skill......You can't tell me Tanner Glass is a better hockey player than Hayley Wickenheiser

No viable reason why Demko needs to be rushed.

He has to probably make a choice ...does he want to play lots, does he want to play for a team who can make the playoffs , does he want to be close to his wife ...he can't have it all but he can probably get a couple of those

He has mentioned that his wife and him like Van. It's only 2.5 hrs from LA. IMO he would rather play then sit on a bench. Besides he will get more money in Van the Cali.

The league will always have physicality. There are quite a few skilled players who are physical.

Demko is marinating & progressing just fine.
The immediate question is if to resign Miller for 1-2 more years.
As for Marky i've still not seen him prove he can handle 55-60 games as a starter.
If ties r cut with Miller its Marky time to sink or swim & a solid backup is signed or even Bachman would be a possibility.

- Nighthawk

Has marky had an opportunity here yet, I would say no.
