Because he's would be a starter here. He would only be a back up or 50/50 at best in Ana. And LA and SJS, he's only a back up.

He wants to play.

Pretty sure he'd rather live under the same roof with his wife and son....you know before she gets comfortable with him not there

He has mentioned that his wife and him like Van. It's only 2.5 hrs from LA. IMO he would rather play then sit on a bench. Besides he will get more money in Van the Cali.
- Kaynine

If even offered a contract in Cali which doesn't make sense.
Those 3 don't have cap space to use.

I don't see it.
If playing time was his driving criteria, he could still find better options than Vancouver.

He has no ties here.
Sure he likes it in Vancouver, but let's face it, the team is gonna be near the bottom of the league next year, he ain't from here, his wife ain't here, he can get paid to play elsewhere, with a better shot at the cup.

Long shot rob really sign, especially at a discount like some proposed

He may still enjoy the game....he's made more then 60 mil in his career. I doubt top dollar is his motivation going forward.

I think he goes to the kings as a backup. I think he'd go there for league minimum...

Quite possible & close to home.
Chasing a cup isn't everything to him it appears or he would not have signed here

I started keeping a closer eye on the top prospects a little over a month ago. In that time, Hischier has 1 goal... I just haven't been impressed. Anytime I do skill set comps/projections, he comes out on the "poor man's" side of the equation. I don't hate him. I see potential. But he's not in my top 5.

I watched a vid of all his goals / assists from this season. Very good player.
I have checked out many of the others due to lack of time
