Speaking of my poolie days..
I was working in Prince George & soakin up the suds in my favorite watering hole & the Newfie bartender was telling me about his draft the night before. He said he got Gretzky n i said ur lucky u got 1OA. He replied i had 2OA. That stopped me in my tracks. I collected myself n asked how? He said Bossy went 1OA. I laughed n asked why. He said the other dudes reason is he scores a lot. It was a points pool a goal or assist was 1 point. I drank all night & couldn't get drunk just laughing at that. - Nighthawk
People make stupid picks in pools all the time but imagine if someone actually picked a Patrick White or Taylor Ellington over someone like PK Subban.
Now that would make you drink yourself until you're numb. |

bodes well for expansion draft to have him skating already. Carol posted there was some concern the league might deem him too injured to be exposed - WhiteLie
If Doctors say he is clear to play I don't see why not he meets all the other requirements |

I am trying to figure out how to incorporate Gaunce, Lemmings and SCRAPS into one Avatar. It's not easy. |

Hey guys, for those interested, I went to see OJ and the Knights play yesterday. He looked really good. He's not a flashy player by any means, consistently makes smart plays. Very safe while moving the puck out of his own zone, doesnt' take stupid chances. He has the no look pass down to a science because he sees the ice so well, he set up a ton of chances. He also hit the post and had a couple other good chances but didn't register a point. He punched a guy in the face for getting to close to his goalie after a whistle and got a penalty, but he sucked the other guy into hitting him back, and they got double roughing minors. I don't think he's a difference maker, but he should be a solid smart player on the backline who can run the PP. Excited to see him at camp in the fall.
some other notes...
Victor Mete (plays like WCH/Marchard, not the dirty/idiot version) Brandon Crawley and Vande Sompel are the offensive D guys who really impressed me. Robert Thomas has great vision and made some amazing passes. Issac Ratcliff is a large stick of a human, great hands, awkward as F skating tho - Not sure whats to come of him. Cliff Pu was the standout, what a beast of player that kid is, like a young Trevor Linden. And a 16yr old on Guelph named Ryan Merkley, stick handling, vision, and what movement across the line, but has a lot to learn on the defensive side of the game. - Brooks_Light
What did you think of Alex Formenton? He will be the youngest player in the draft I heard. |

Another pool of ours 1 dude picked someone whom i forgot but we couldn't find him for a month. Turned out he wasn't in the NHL or AHL & was playing in Europe. |

Depends on the length of stopover in the Congo (as well as the whole kidnapping and beheading thing). It can get lengthy if you are not careful. |

It's funny, the cup makes its way to BC every year but never in the hands of a canuck. |

Hard to argue against that.
Tanev/Goldy/4th foe Kane/1st/3rd - Nighthawk
I see you are trying to make out a balanced trade. Is that for when, this summer?
Kane's a free agent when Sedins contract is up. Sabers may trade him before that. But I think he might hold out to sign with Nucks. They would have the cap space and don't have a LW top 6 power forward.
So Kane could get an LE plus deal from Nucks still in his prime and preferred city. Plus he might like the Nucks team with a rising new core. Remember, it will be two more drafts of great high end picks plus more developed existing young guys.
I wouldn't waste good assets to get him. He's a good to have. Plus no way Sabers are giving up a 1st in a sell off. |
