As much as I wanted it to be a goal, it wasn't. It was about timing. If he were driving the net after the puck arrived it would have been coincidental contact but he arrived before the puck and contact was made before the puck was on net.

Correct. That was the main caveat to that rule. I totally though you guys were robbed at first, but I was unaware of that part of the rule.

I've been following the chatter on here a little, but I honestly haven't given much thought to the draft yet. I'd like to see where they finally land in the standings and how players do in the postseason. And we'll need something to talk about after April 9!

Man... you guys were seriously undermanned. I mean, it's not like the Pens are missing: Letang, Hornqvist, Hagelin, Cullen, Rust, Maatta and had to only dress 11 forward last second, two being call-ups and two call-ups on defense... Geez.

Also, here's my thought on that first goal being disallowed. I had a long conversation about this because I initially thought it should have been allowed. I promise I'm totally being non-homer.

1) Being in the crease BEFORE the puck which is a big part of this rule.

2) The "push" is subjective. He wasn't "pushed" until after the puck went through Murray's pads. They entered the crease together without being forced there.

#2 is the point people will argue back and forth, but I had two friends (a philly and rangers fan, so clearly bias TOWARD the Pens) and they both said he was not pushed in the crease. He was heading right for it.

Carol I have a question to see what you think. Lots of talk on here about the upcoming draft. What is your opinion of Canucks need with their first pick?

My thought is with Goldobin Dahlen Boucher Camarosa (fourth liner ) recently added , Boeser and Gaudette in the prospect pool already, our bigger need is on D.

They have been giving up 40 shots a game quite regularly and it should be addressed sooner than later.

I know it's a cop-out, but i think the strategy will be BPA.
Similar to last year, when PLD and the top forwards were taken, JB selected OJ.
If the top fwds are gone when JB picks this year, i wouldn't be surprised if he takes a D again. Similarly, if a top fwd is still available, we grab him.

Abosolutley. I'm still confident he can be a solid 3rd liner for the team. Top 6 doesn't look likely at the moment
- CanuckDon

I think his celing could still be top 6, patrick maroon type that might take a bit of time to learn the pro game.
Nothing wrong with that.

We were wondering last night if maybe Tanev & Granlund took it upon themselves to try the change-up? Symptoms would probably be pretty similar to food poisoning...

The curse of the canucks continues, unbelievable the amount of injuries and sickness this team goes through but theres no quit in that room which is a good thing.

3rd liners are
- Nucker101

I'm not in in the linch mob calling a 3rd liner only at such an early time.
All the other armchair gurus can go ahead & hit the panic button on a 20yr old.
Guess Granlund Baertschi Goldy & Dahlen all older than JV had the jury hold off on sentencing. Too many double standards & impatience is obvious.

But if it was Crosby its a goal right, I have seen worse contact than that and they count it, maybe if they phone Vancouver instead of TO canucks might get some calls go there way.

Do people still buy into these Crosby conspiracies? Seriously?

Those of you who claim this garbage clearly don't watch the Pens on a regular basis and see how much murder other team's get away with in how they go after Sid.

The announcer is right Benning must be sitting at home and licking his chops over MacEwen. Fight Goal assist and a huge hit

http://nhllotterysimulator.com

I played this simulator based on current position of Nucks for lottery. Of out 10 draws I got the Nucks 3 times for 1OA. No other team repeated more then once. Odds and luck a funny thing you know

Strangest thing I heard in last nights broadcast..........."Great defensive play by Luca Spiza."

My impression on the Canucks third period push last night.........

Nice. JB seems to be going for size in signings now. Like to see him playing pro and see what he can bring.

Though no one is talking about Drew Shore. Not as bulky as MacEwen and supposed playmakimg center. JB scouted prior to TDL on his European trip. Funny he liked a NA guy who had fallen out of Panthers and Flames system.

What was up with the music last night... it was good for like the first time in 5 years... whatever they did keep it up. As usual, kill it on the music, you get a good environment.

So I guess i'm just disturbing poop by saying this. I just say whatever to it and it doesn't mean a lot from a professional stand point. ANYWAYS!

I got my father tickets to Flames vs Jets on Saturday. He's a flames fan.

Anyways, asked him how the game was and he said to me "the best player Calgary has is that Tkachuk kid." "He's going to be a real good player"

OJ better step it up and help Van win a cup.
