If you want more then "prospect type" numbers. Will have to look at the 30 year Olds and more games played. - manvanfan
Ideally the spot goes to a younger guy with upside, but if not then I would rather see a Hudler than a Megna. At least someone like Hudler or Sharp could teach the kids something if youre going to waste a roster spot
I wouldnt go as far to say depth, but prioritizing development. Goldoblin, Boeser and even Boucher are young enough to be given the sheltered 3rd line minutes and PP2 time. Rodin was a nice idea for the playoff push but I think at 26 he's a bit old to be learning the NHL on a rebuilding team IMO - WhiteLie
I don't think Nucks are done with Rodin. They put a lot of time and effort on his rehab. He's here with the team. Even got the mumps it was reported. If they wanted to part ways they would have just had him go back to Sweden to rehab when season was done. Look for him to get another contract and do over for next season at camp. If he takes off and has a Granlund plus type season then he's a TDL asset at the very least.
Goldy, BB, and Dahlen will be developed. But they can be sent down with no waivers next season. That's how the spots will get decided based on how Nucks have handled decisions. I only see OJ assured a 7/8 spot if they decide he has more to gain training and being spotted in line up over another year in junior.

Minnesota State sophomore D Daniel Brickley, a highly-sought after NHL UFA, has decided to return to school for his junior year. - mauryballstein
Well at least they didn't lose him to another team. So good chance for next year. By then Nucks may have traded Tanev or Edler and lost Sbisa. So better chance for him. Besides he needs to improve he skating straight line speed. Still a project. He knows it.
Yeah that's what we have been saying. Would have liked Guadette on Comets to develop and be an option for injury call up next season. But college will work better for him to gain strength. Plus he can sign end of next season and burn a year off his ELC for only playing a couple games.
Reese will probably top out as a Magma type player. I don't really care if we sign him. - CanuckDon
A report on him is:
"Aston-Reese is an absolute beast working along the boards and in heavy traffic situations. He’s continued to develop his two-way play, and put in a lot of work on his shot to become a more effective scorer."
Doesn't sound like Megna at all. In fact what we thought we had and needed in Etem. Kind of stop gapped in Skille. There aren't any players Nucks have that sound like him now.

Absolutely, he is a one of a kind prospect. It's a miracle he wasn't drafted.
That seems like a long plane ride, the elevator ride in the Burj Khalifa takes 1 minute to go from ground to 124th floor - WhiteLie
Interesting information. I think we can likely both agree that it was bizarre that Shore decided to stop in Germany when there were many other options.

Indeed. Does not seem that he was very eager to come to Vancouver based on his route choices
Mr Horse.... how do yo feel about the Canucks current injury status?
Even with a skeleton crew.....we hung with Pittsburgh (ok....Miller helped)....but would be nice to see "money" players not be sick/injured.....(or play non half ass)
TANGENT
The twins are talented......but I have seen WAY to many no looks passes, or passes with no mustard behind them (getting easily picked off).......I know aging, diminishing assets, league wear and tare ........But they are twins that played together since conception......I can over look dumb passes to "the new guy", but even in their twilight years, their play together should still be good.........whats up with that?

Okay so you want to mock Reese. Look it takes many different types of players to make a good team. He's a piece. Do players like him exist of course. How to get one is the rub.
Do the Canucks have one like him now. No. So to get one means a trade. Assets not so easily moved or come by with a lacking depth team like the Nucks. Are there young free agents out there like him? Don't think so.
He's rated no 1 college free agent so signing him would be a good boost to rebuild.
