Do the Canucks have one like him now. No. So to get one means a trade. Assets not so easily moved or come by with a lacking depth team like the Nucks. Are there young free agents out there like him? Don't think so.

Well we are guaranteed to be watching 2 of our prospects with the Spitfires during the Memorial Cup. Windsor as host gets a bye & is also the team in which our 1st Rd pick(Vilardi) plays for.

Jalen Chatfield has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
Chatfield was an undrafted free agent prospect. He has eight goals and 28 points in 60 OHL contests this season. "Jalen is a good two-way defenceman that sees the ice well and makes good decisions in all three zones," said Canucks GM Jim Benning. "He moves the puck well and can join the rush. Jalen is another addition to our young prospect pool and we look forward to his continued development playing in Windsor."

Canucks as has been hashed here and rehashed, simply didn't have enough prospects in their pool to develop to elevate and replace these older guys... JB is regularly restocking the cupboard or trading the odd pick here and there to get guys from other teams who aren't getting a break or being developed correctly (Baertschi, Granlund)...

getting the Sedins contracts off the books and maybe have them resigned to a one year deal at 2 mill per each would work with them being on the 3rd line.

I don't think so. Was Sautner a waste? He is playing decent with Utica. This guy appears to have more upside. It's cheap/ free depth for the Comets.

Edit. This likely means that one of Neil or Olsen won't be signed. Either way, none of these players will likely make the NHL.
