Ya, he's 20 years old.

There are lots of 20 year olds that aren't top pairing including our very own carl Neil. He is an upgrade on Neil. You complain about the stupidest things

Are you better than a 5th rounder?

A waste of an empty space??

- dbot

Well, we now have 2 or 3 contract spots left with the majority of NCAA teams still playing...i.e, there is still a good number of better players left out there to potentially sign.

Now we get this 20 year old D who weighs like 180 pounds and has put up average numbers.

Add the fact that he is pretty much guaranteed not to make Utica next season and is thus thrown back into the CHL/ECHL and, my friend, you have a waste of space.

Bro, you have a bad habit (as proven numerous times now) of simply making sh!t up that has no basis in reality.

Keep it up.

How many college free agents do you think we sign 1 maybe 2? Add maybe even signing Boeser we be at 50, big deal we will be at maximum for 3 months.
Again, McEwen and Chatfield are signed for NEXT SEASON.

That's a good point.
I guess I view it more along the lines of signing a dead-asset.
He has questionable size and average numbers in the CHL at 20.

The odds of him making the AHL are slim to none due to the number of better players ahead of him.

So, he then goes to the ECHL (assuming we have a team next year) which is a notoriously bad development league or back to the CHL where he likely stagnates again next season.

All in all, a needless, meh, signing.
I suppose the rational is, 'its better then nothing' or 'you never know' but simply handing out contracts to subpar players simply because you can is odd.

Reminds me of Gillis in his waning years.

Neil likely won't be signed. But sure, you know more than the scouts. Only a massive female dog would complain about an AHL signing. You certainly aren't my bro

You mean those same scouts that drafted Neil and passed on this guy?

We have only 29 signed for next season, so they may like his steady stable game for Utica during this organizational youth movement.
We need lots of everything, as I stated earlier. Rather have players like this in the system than a player who looks like he is going to get creamed out there like Larsen.

I see what you're saying, but identifying guys with potential is something this regime has been pretty good at.

to bad about the soccer though

soccer and tennis have alot in common , the most important being only women matter

mens soccer is like watching Kesler try to draw a penalty , but for 90 minutes
