Looking through Baker's latest prospect report had a couple things stand out to me. First, Sabres related:
Johansson was back in net Friday with a 32-save performance in a 2-1 loss to IK Pantern, leaving him 1-2 with 1.37 GAA and .954 save percentage through three postseason starts.
That stat line is very Buffalo-esque (early in the season) - playing well but no goal support. Also good to see he's doing well.
The other was something I noticed when watching the 2 goals in the video he posted that Brandon Hagel scored the other night (Hagel was drafted in the 6th in 2016). Both goals were setup by this #23 kid, who I then went and looked up on Red Deer's site to see who it is:

From a Winnipeg article:
Spacek is not related to long-time NHL defenceman and funny guy Jaroslav Spacek.

Would think it could have been better than just swapping pcs in and out. Makes you wonder if someone could have done a better job. Or could have done worse.. |

What was "exciting" about the Bruins the year they won a cup? If anything it was only their goaltending that was exciting, so...1 less than you list for Buffalo.
Exciting doesn't win a cup. |

The troublesome trio, here's their buyouts in one easy look:

I'd rather trade a 2nd and Bogosian to LV for a 5th and an agreement they take Ennis.
2nd Bogosian and Ennis for a 5th.
Mouson 1.1MM Retained for a 4th. |

I'm looking up the history of that trade....ouch.
Kaberle to Boston for Colborne and conditional 1st and 2nd, which popped because Boston made (and won) the '11 Cup Finals.
Colborne: Traded to Calgary for a '14 conditional 4th
2011 1st: Traded to Anaheim, with a 2nd, to move up in that draft to 22 where Toronto selected Tyler Biggs. Anaheim turned those two picks in Rakell and Gibson.
2012 2nd: traded to Colorado for John-Michael Liles |

the fact that rebuilding team has a net loss in first and second rounders is kind of a head scratcher |

I would literally try to give them away before a buy out. Moulson and a 3rd to LV for a 5th or something. And do that with BOGO too. Ennis might have a LITTLE value. - CoHo_to_B-Lo
For sure that would be the way to goe, except I would try to get rid of Bogo's contract before Moulson, just based on play this year. Yes his production has slipped, and certainly not worth $5m...but he does have some value as. 4th liner who can play up to fill in for injuries and play 2nd PP. 12-15 goals would be ok for 1 more year to reduce the buyout hit for the following year, again if nobody bites on your proposition.
Ennis, I think it depends on the Coaching staff for next year...Bylsma stays, then Ennis should be gone, Bylsma stays maybe hold on for one more year to see if he can drive his value up. |

but...they used them to get a high first rounder (kane) and a high second-rounder (o'reilly) in return...
right? |

only problem with that is Bylsma drove ennis' value down in the nearly two years he's been head coach...I get the injuries and all but ennis wasn't exactly lighting it up prior to his injuries last season |

Hopefully Deslauriers like he should every night....but "he contributed" last game, so he'll probably earn top 6 minutes |
