In a certain perspective, I agree here. Here and now, Fowler is the better player. Of course there are many variables in a trade scenario. But if you take the one season fantasy stance, you're asking the Sabres for a few players for Fowler. But you know Murray is looking at the long term, and the guy he's trading with likely is as well. If he's talking with that guy, Nylander>>Fowler(type)

Tells you he performs well against his equally undeveloped peers. So you've got guys like Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Ristoleinen, who dominated the competition and translated that to the NHL, and guys like Grigorenko and Hodgson, who dominated the competition and flopped.

I think it's a positive look to be dominant, but determining NHL skill with Junior skill is two different worlds. In saying that, I believe Nylander's skills are too great to deny. However, he may take a few years to start producing. And that's fine. Because his ceiling is pretty damn high.

The Jets' birthday cupcakes to Hightower earlier this week weren't enough to convince him to sign with their league-worst franchise, while the Steelers never seemed to be a serious contender. All roads led back to New England. Hightower's market didn't develop quite like he had hoped, and the Patriots were able to keep their 27-year-old inside thumper after trading away ILB Jamie Collins to the Browns last season. Hightower was Pro Football Focus' No. 5 inside linebacker out of 59 qualifiers in 2016, receiving plus marks across the board for his pass rush, coverage, and run defense. Everything seems to be working in the Patriots' favor this offseason. They probably have more up their sleeve.
