The Canucks need to keep looking. A # 1 centre, a # 1 D man, a bunch of fast, skilled wingers that fill the net and a handful of rugged, skull-crushing stay-at-home D men. Oh, and more goalies. - Marwood
This. BPA this year, regardless of position! |

Wanted us to reach for Clayton Keller. He was projected to go around 10, went 7th to the Coyotes. |

I'm not sure most keep up with month to month on players. I've had him in my top 3 all year. I think he will be good. Last comparison I heard was Faster then Kevin Fiala but not as skilled as Ehlers. |

Bold prediction, I was really high on Ehlers but I didn't expect him to be this good yet. Ehlers is much more tenacious from what I've seen and read of Nico but I still think Nico is the clear #2 despite a poor month.
I would be tempted to reach for Mittlesatd at 1 or 2 as I think he has the highest ceiling of any forward but likely wouldn't have the balls to do it. |

Was hoping for him after Dubois and pulijarvi went as well. Kid has been real good this year and was just barely outproduced by Mathews and Eichel in their draft years. |

That wasn't the discussion nor anything of what I was talking about. The pro vs against tanking seems to be a philosophical issue. For example this threads blogger Carol is against tanking as a concept. |

Here's my mock from last season. I would say I did half decent. I had Wpg picking Logan Stanley at 22. They traded with Philly and picked him at 18. |

I really don't understand how a feast or famine producer who doesn't bring a tenacious all around game can be a "clear #2".
If any other prospect had scored just 1 goal in the Q over the past 40 days, he'd be dropped out of the 1st round. I'm not saying Nico should be, but c'mon... |

You have said that a lot. I have ignored you before. But it is really f'd up saying that when you engage with me. Stop being such a pompous a$$. Like you are some superior person. You are not. Nor are your views. Even what we are talking about is the same thing. But you don't want to acknowledge that. For example, I want a youth movement. Just don't believe in the philosophy of tanking. You do or whatever you think it is. That's fine. It doesn't make me not agreeing with you someone who doesn't deserve to be here. Something you try to bring up from time to time. I have complimented you and treated you with respect. But I know the difference between a hateful comment and kidding around chide. Smarten up and stop acting like a child. |

You didn't say anything unless you are Lefty?!? But it's a factor that another team is competing for draft position weighted equally on odds. Plus having better position on draft pick, if lotto lost by both, and 3rd pick in each remaining round is more then semantics. - Nuck4U

I think if another player had the same body of work as Nico and faltered they wouldn't be dropped out of the 1st round. I haven't followed Nico or any prospect much in the past few months but cherry picking 1 goal in 40 days is lazy.
In the past 2 months he has played 17 games (presumably because his team has) and he has 5 goals and 13 assists. It's a drop in his production but still over a ppg. Using 40 days also conveniently is right after he scored 4 in 3 days. Saying 5 goals in 43 days paints a more accurate picture, although most people stick to games instead of days.
Regardless just like with Patrick the body of work is more important than one segment IMO. |

More then you by your ommissions to the factor that Vegas plays
It's obvious you want to color the tank important even in a draft year with so many issues. That said no matter where the Canucks finish I hope they win at least one of the 3 lotto spots. Okay then. - Nuck4U

That's not an accurate accounting. Apathy, losing culture, set backs in development of younger players. I can go on.
I covered the 3 lotto spots and hope they get one them. Did you miss that!?!? Or are you so religiously tied to tanking that you got set off?
Look they will finish in the bottom somewhere. It doesn't really matter where. They will get a good shot at a lotto pick. It actually might be worse if they tank hard to finish low and then drop spots this draft. So I'm just not sweating it if the kids play and score and win some games. If they get opportunities yet lose and drop in the standings that's fine too.
Maybe Boucher finds a grove and produces. Goldy recovers from his plague and shines. His 15lbs loss wow why could they have not exposed JV to that beginning of the season - Nuck4U

You stopped reading again and missed the point. Here's the difference. Tanking hard is a purposeful creation by the team to lose. At this point it really doesn't matter. Let the kids play and win or lose it's all the same as long as they put in the effort. They will get a good shot at one of the 3 lotto spots either way.
Don't be so set on to purposefully losing nothing really gained there. It's an illusion. What matters is the results and we are on the same page. Hope for good luck and Nucks Win a lotto draw.
Again, at least for optics, positive karma, whatever, I rather they win and climb in the lotto then lose and drop. Maybe that's the difference here with our perspectives. - Nuck4U
