Thanks Carol,

It will be interesting to see how Tryamkin responds tonight after WD's strange remarks.

Getting in to the top 3 at the draft would be a huge chance at first overall pick Nolan Patrick.

Anybody have someone different for the first overall? Or he he the consensus pick at one?

Not overly impressed with his skating, which is a big thing for me, but he's being compared to Eric Staal. Not a flashy player but really solid. I would've loved Eric Staal back in the day.

I thought Vegas was guaranteed the 3rd pick?
- Marwood
The Las Vegas franchise will be given the same odds in the 2017 NHL Draft Lottery as the team finishing with the third-fewest points during the 2016-17 regular season.

The Las Vegas franchise's First Round selection in the 2017 NHL Draft will be determined in accordance with the 2017 NHL Draft Lottery and, as a result, the Las Vegas franchise will be guaranteed no lower than the sixth overall selection.

The Las Vegas Golden Showers can go and f**ck off. Another of Gary's failed projects like PHX/ARZ.

In 5-10 years they will be bleeding cash just like ARZ.

Watched numerous videos of him, seems to be more of a pure shooter in the Kesler mold than a playmaker. What's your take on that? Definitely a skilled kid though, way more puck skills than Kes, love to add him to the fold.

Makar is not in any particular ranking for me.
Moving parts between now n then I would decide who is best.

I posted this in the last blog. There is a lot of time for me to change my mind though. We will see how it looks closer to the draft.

1. Nolan Patrick
2. Timothy Liljegren
3. Michael Rasmusen
4. Cale Makar
5. Gabriel Vilardi
6. Nico Hischier
7. Jusso Valimaki
8. Casey Middlestadt
9. Klim Kostin
10. Callan Foote

Honourable Mentions: Martin Necas and Owen Tippet.

This is just my order. Not saying this is how it will go down.

Comets are on fire.....who says Travis Green wouldn't be a decent option with Van next year? He has the ability to work with the young guys as well as vets. Good transition option for Van

- Kaynine

WD was all that and a lot more coming out of the AHL...

Remember, Comets are hot... after being not...

This guy isn't a scout, he's a freelance writer, but he's compiled some interesting takes on the prospects.

I don't think so, Vegas will have a lot of corporate money. The casinos will chew up the seats as free giveaways to us Canucks going there. I'm pretty sure a Canadian going down there will want tickets to a game, and the rink is on the strip and easily within walking distance.

Great skater and good puck skills, especially in tight, seems to be a shooter though because I didn't see him making any great passing plays. Very talented kid for sure!

I think he's a creative, skilled & more than willing playmaker... seen quite a few of his crazy passes that teammates weren't aware enough to receive or convert. He'll really benefit when he's on the ice with more capable guys. IMO his pro comp is a unique hybrid of Backstrom & Duchene
