Two is excellent, one is good...none is Nonis and Gillis - LeftCoaster
I'm very on the fence on what I'd like Van to do next season. Play all the kids that are ready or allow the kids to get used to the pro game in the AHL together. Sign a couple of Free agents and sell them off at the deadline then bring up the kids. I think the latter is a better option. |

I still think Canucks will trade for a top 6 forward before the start of next year.
That will be significant |

The FA market these days is too crazy, NTC's & NMC's are being handed out too often. |

Trade with what? Futures? That's a terrible idea. |

Ok...well I could see that, although you're not getting a highend guy with those players. |

I think you'd be hard-pressed to get Kane for Tanev straight up. Hard to judge the "D" value, it's a continual moving line. |

you can't do them all?
Well if kids are ready they should be brought up, regardless... I'm thinking that's exactly what JB wants. He's also developing many players on the farm (and will be getting an influx of youth next season in Boeser/OJ/Demkos 2nd year/Dahlen/Goldy and potentially the our upcoming draft picks). Thinking with losing 6 million in salary on Hansen/Burrows JB will give Horvat his contract (just pay him now, get a good long term deal imo) JB will pursue some free agents as well, hopefully not at the price of LE... but a couple guys on some deals.
I would like to see JB go after guys like Kulikov/Oshie/Sharp, fill a need in our core with a player on the slide on a good deal. I'd even love too see them shed Markstrom and go after a guy like Bishop (only 30, vezina trophy winning goalie, definitely a project worth taking). |

This. He's from Vancouver... if Kane ever makes it to Free Agency... you have to think he'd really want to come back to the West Coast. I've never been on board with trading for him (for anything), some team will get fed up with him eventually. I heard a while ago that he doesn't have ONE slap shot goal in the NHL? |

The positive with WD has been compete from the team. But the results still show it is a losing environment. Hopefully Utica does fairly well and we have lots of youth there playing and earning an opportunity.
I wouldn't mind signing the best ufa's we can get at 1 year contracts and see if we can make the playoffs, and if we can't then they should be worth something at tdl. Making the playoffs can still be a goal and hopefully with Bo Sven Granlund/Boucher/LE/UFA/Rookie whoever as our top line next season.
What can we expect from the Sedins next season? better, same or worse? |
