The thing about trading one of the Dmen is keep away from the big names. They are too expensive and seldom live up to the hype.

Find a solid 20 goal scorer that plays a good two way game and target them. Another route is a nice prospect and a pick .

I'll bring you up to speed on Brock Boeser and the NCAA hockey tournament as well as the Utica Comets' playoff push—and, oh yeah, the Canucks—in the new blog:

This. He's from Vancouver... if Kane ever makes it to Free Agency... you have to think he'd really want to come back to the West Coast. I've never been on board with trading for him (for anything), some team will get fed up with him eventually. I heard a while ago that he doesn't have ONE slap shot goal in the NHL?
- Crazybagoham

Kessel doesn't use slap shots either

I disagree, he didn't have a player of the Demitra or Alex Tanguay ilk to feed him the puck during 2011. That's what he needed because he was a shooter.

Mason Raymond was not the answer for him.

- LeftCoaster

All good. I agree Raymond was not the answer but when Higgins and Samuelsson were in their prime here they were more than capable. We had some pretty damn good top 9 wingers here since 2009 to play with Kesler before he left.

But I do see the point of needing a passer but for me it works both ways and after awhile Kesler appeared (to me) to be the bigger part of the problem.

I will be honest and I don't think anyone here will agree but I see it a lot differently .

I never was a fan of the Sedins ( on ice ) ever.

You guys see them as a point per game skilled players future HHOF players. They put up their 1000 points and Canucks best players ever.

I see them as two players that that passed the puck between themselves and and took a five man game and turned it into a two man game.

You see Hank as a leader I se him as the guy who goodn't get off the ice quick enough during that Boston scrum in the morning game 2012 .

I see them now as controlling the Canucks and delaying progress ,you guys see them as deserving to do whatever they want.

You guys canenjoy the memories but I will be doing the happy dance down Granville an shouting Thank Christ

Lots of factors:

PP dried up.
Lou with the 3 game choke.
AV's refusal to start Schneider in gm 6.
Rule changes in SCF after the Rome hit.
Lapierre and Torres shut down after gm 2 by AV.
No pushback to Marchand.
Hamhuis out did not help.
Lots of other things going on than Just Lou vs Thomas.

Bottom line is that Bruins club had no business being on the ice with that dominant Canuck team from 2011 and we should have found a way to win with the depth we had. Both teams were injured by then so I don't pull that card.

- LordHumungous

Lou stole 2 maybe 3 games. as bad as he was in BOS, the Sedins failed to steal 1 game. Thats all the Canucks needed.
