I don't know what happened to your post DCT but I agree Mittlestadt is putting on a show since returning.
I'm too much of a sadist to ever believe we will get the top 2 picks but really hoping we can pick up this kid. - belcherbd
Makes me less concerned where we land in the lotto. With top 5 JB should be happy, anything more is a bonus. |

All we need is a legit top 2 C from the draft & its a win IMO
I like a few & see no probs grabbing one. |

I don't think there's anything set up right now but we should have a playoff pool for sure. |

Tomorrow night I will be at the Kelowna Rockets-Everett Silvertips playoff game.
I talked to an old friend of mine(former amateur scout)who tells me to keep an eye on Kole Lind-solid player, should be a 2nd Line player or very good 3rd liner. From Everett he says to watch this 16 year old kid that is 6'3" 200#, has 20 goals 18 assists... Riley Sutter...
Also tells me that Callan Foote should be at minimum a top 2 defenseman, but he thinks he will be a number 1 defenseman. He does not like to compare players to others, but said if he had to he says a cross between Nick Lidstrom & Drew Doughty. He lives here in Kelowna & watches him play regularly, thinks Canucks will be missing out if they do not take him when they pick....àlso he does not even like the Canucks.
Will post my own opinion when I get a chance, after I have seen these games. |

I stopped guessing after last years draft, tired of being wrong I don't think anyone JB picks will have an impact next season unless we luck out and move up in the lottery. BPA between C & D I guess. Or some "get your popcorn" drama with JB trading down.
The later would be fun just to see most posters here lose their sh*t! |

Picking OJ last year made sense to me. As for trading down idk unless the deal is sweetened & JB sees his player slide to him. |

Foote would be awesome, as the roster stands now if van picks 1-4 they should take a center (Patrick, Hishier, Mislewhater, vilardi is my order) Unless of course JB trades for a young top 6 center (Galchenyuk was rumored a bit) then id be all for Foote
Edit: I am aware galchenyuk is unlikely |

I had Kole Lind in my "watch" list back in November and he has been slowly climbing. I've never seen him play. His highlights show a very straight forward north south player. Kind of reminds me of watching Jannik Hansen. They way he plays, I don't know if he was ever going to be a solid 2nd liner but more of a good 3rd liner like your scout said. |

Idk how we would be missing out passing on higher BPA & need to take Foote.
Only able to pick one player is missing out on many others.
Trading down to pick Foote is only option i see making sense.
Passing on C's for us is not a wise thing.

Cal Foote to me is this years Jakob Chychrun, might be overlooked by some because he doesn't have that stand out game as Makar or Liljegren have. I had Chychrun at 8 in my draft last year. Fell to 16. Looks like a steal right now. 19 points in 57 games for a poopty Arizona team. |

I don't understand what an amateur scout has what to do with in any say over what the Canucks need to pick. |

I had Chychrun as the top dman last year, his standings fell because of one game (all star game i believe) to early to tell who's actually the best, but if van drafts a center and Foote drops a bit, id really hope benning was making some calls |

I had Chychrun as my 3rd. He had a terrible u-18 tournament in the summer. I read that there is a lot of stock put into how players do in the u-18's. Reason why Clayton Keller got into the top 10. |

Florida or Buffalo could be looking for a defencemen named Chris Tanev. |

A prime example how a rebuilding team can use cap space to acquire assets, Chychrun. Something Benning can learn I hope. Taking on Datsyuk's contract allowed Arizona to move up and pluck Chychrun out of the draft. |
